Readings for today
Collect Almighty God, by whose grace the Abbess Ethelflaeda, kindled with the
fire of your love, became a burning and a shining light in the Church: inflame us
with the same spirit of discipline and love, that we may ever walk before you as
children of light: through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
First reading: Philippians 3:7-14
Paul passionately reveals his vocation: to know Christ, to follow Christ and to make Christ
known.
Gospel reading: Luke 12:32-37
Jesus tells his followers that money and possessions are at the root of so much worry and anxiety
and that we should put our trust in God and not in material possessions.
Post Communion Prayer All powerful God, may we who are strengthened by the
power of this sacrament learn from the example of St Ethelflaeda to seek you
above all things and to live in this world as your new creation, through Jesus Christ
our Lord. Amen.
