Description:
Applications are invited for a tenure-track position in Theoretical and Practical
Ethics at the assistant or associate professor level, beginning September 1,
2015.
Compensation:
Commensurate with experience and qualifications. CSUB offers a generous
benefit package (e.g., excellent health, dental, vision, and retirement benefits.)
Qualifications:
Applicants with a Ph.D. in Philosophy at the time of appointment strongly
preferred, with a specialization in Theoretical and Practical Ethics. Areas of
Competence: Any combination of Business Ethics Professional Ethics, Legal
Ethics, Bioethics, Engineering Ethics, Neuroethics, and Environmental Ethics.
Teaching:
The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate courses in
his or her field of study and departmental service courses. In addition,
candidates should also be prepared to teach or help develop courses in crossdisciplinary studies, and will participate in appropriate levels of service to the
department, school, the university, and the profession.
