A vacancy for a p/t Playgroup Leader
has arisen at St Barnabas Church. This is an
important local community ministry for us
and we need to fill the post urgently for next

The Revd Eric Cordingly, Rector of
Leckhampton from 1941 to 1954
His daughter Louise Reynolds, who is giving a
talk to the Leckhampton Local History
Society at the P&J Church House on 18th
December at 8 p.m., can be heard on the
BBC Radio iPlayer being interviewed for
Radio 4’s Midweek programme (24 Sep)
about the book ‘Down to Bedrock’ based on
her father’s diaries as a POW chaplain.
Reception Children at school. There will
be a service at 9.30am on Wednesday 5th
November in church to welcome new
children, their parents and families to the
school. If you can possibly come to show
your support of the link between church and
school, please do. There will be no mid-week
Holy Communion that day.
Women’s World Day of Prayer
A day of study will be held on Thursday 6th
November from 10 until 3 at the Salem
Baptist Church, St George’s Road. There will
be input from the women of Bermuda in
preparation for 6 March 2015. The cost is £3
for the day. Bring lunch; tea and coffee are
provided.

St Christopher’s Church – Our
Windows: a Different Perspective
A talk by Adrian Barlow will be held at St
Christopher’s in Warden Hill on Sunday 23rd
November at 2 p.m. after a lunch at 12.30
p.m. Lunches must be pre-booked from Pam
on 236472 or Reg/Isabel on 243099 and the
charge is £5.
Overall admission is free, with a retiring
collection for the Brinckman High School in
Kasulu, Tanzania. Please see the notice in

St Andrew’s Church, Montpellier are
holding an Autumn Fair and auction of
promises on Saturday 8th November from 10
until 1.30 p.m. Children’s activities – stalls –
cakes - books – lunches. For Christian Aid.
Concert for Remembrance Day at Pip
and Jim’s – on Saturday 8th November from
6 p.m. an evening of music, poetry and
readings will be held in aid of the Big Appeal.

This will be held on Tuesday 25th November.
Meet at 6.45 p.m. at Montpellier Gardens by
the entrance from Montpellier Walk for a
one-mile walk which will end at The
Brewery. Wear something purple, bring a
flashlight and make a difference.

Cheltenham Bach Choir and Gottinger
Stadtkantorei will perform Beethoven’s
Missa Solemnis at Cheltenham Town Hall on
Saturday 8th November at 7.30 p.m. See

Cheltenham Tree Group – the annual
tree sale begins on Saturday 29th November,
running until 14 February 2015 at their
nursery in Charlton Kings. Before Christmas
is the best time to plant bare-rooted trees.

Prom Praise 2015 at the Royal Albert
Hall. This is a wonderful experience – a
Christian ‘Last Night of the Proms’. It will be
