Bishop McAlilly to Conduct Services in our Pulaski District
Our resident bishop, the Rev. Bill McAlilly, will be in the Pulaski District this Sunday,
October 26, at 2:00 p.m. All UMC members of the Pulaski District are invited to meet
with Bishop McAlilly at Coleman Memorial UMC in Lawrenceburg to hear his vision for
the United Methodist Church in Middle Tennessee. He will also respond to questions
from the laity of the churches. All the clergy from our district will meet with him on
Monday morning. You are invited, and urged to attend. If you would like to reserve a
seat on the church bus, please contact the church office.

Will's Wonderings
Several folks have sent me this in the past few days, so I
thought I would share:
Being a Christian is like being a pumpkin. God lifts you up,
takes you in, and washes all the dirt off of you.
He opens you up, touches you deep inside and scoops out all
the yucky stuff -- including the seeds of doubt, hate, greed, etc.
Then He carves you a new smiling face and puts his light inside
you to shine for all the world to see.
Church, I wonder, Is God’s light shining in YOU?

The worship service had come to the place where they
normally took the offering. The minister, being a strong sports
enthusiast, dug deep into his pocket, pulled out a quarter and
flipped it into the air. As it landed on the floor, in his best
referee voice with great joy he shouted … “The ushers ... will
receive!”

Pulaski District Fall Lay Ministries Classes
The Fall session of our district Lay Ministries
Classes will be held Saturday, November 15,
from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at First UMC,
Pulaski. In addition to the Basic Course, a
requirement for taking any of the other classes,
three advanced classes will be offered: Go
Preach, Leading Prayer, and Re-discovering
Your spiritual Gifts. Cost is $45 which includes
materials, breakfast and lunch. For registration
