ALLEGAN HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
October 28, 2014
 The cross country team raced regionals on Saturday. Everyone ran really well.
Special recognition goes to pr runners Nate Passorelli (:16), Sarah Perrigo (:28)
and Colton Borst (:31). What a great way to finish the season.
 Attention all wrestlers. Pre-Season conditioning is now underway. Meet in the
Wrestling room today at 3:00 ready to go.
 Please sign up in the athletic office for competitive cheer if you are interested,
looking forward for a big turn-out. You won’t want to miss the opportunity!
 Conditioning workouts for girls’ basketball will be Tuesday and Thursday this
week for players who are not in a fall sport. Workouts will start at 3:15 on those
days.
 Girls Basketball Season is about to begin. Tryouts will be starting November 10th
at 3 P.M. in the High School Main Gym. 9th-12 grade will be at the first tryout
together.
 The Boys’ Basketball Season is fast approaching. Tryouts begin November 17th.
Come and build upon the historic tradition of Allegan Basketball, serve the larger
Allegan community, create a positive atmosphere, and have fun. All players will
tryout at grade level until otherwise instructed.
 All boys interested in trying out for Boys Basketball sign-up with Coach Archer at
his room, 607.
 If you are interested in Competitive Cheer please plan to attend a mandatory
meeting on October 30th at 3:30 to 4 P.M. at the high school by the main office to
discuss the upcoming season and all of the details this meeting is for middle school
and high school.
 Sign up is now underway for this year’s championship wrestling team. The Tigers
are ranked 3rd in the State pre-season in Division 3. If you think you have what it
takes, sign up with Coach Rose in the PE office.
 Girls!! Have you ever played softball before? Maybe you played when you were
little? Well, a new season is upon us, and a new coach Dan Lang, is ready to help
pave the way for an exciting winning season. Come in to the athletic office and
sign up for softball, even if you have never played before, if you want to learn and
become the best player you can be. Sign up and be part of this exciting new team.
Please plan on attending the first team meeting of the year this Thursday, October
30th at 3:00 in Mr. Fisher’s room, #505. We will discuss the upcoming season and
plans for preseason workouts.
 Attention: All boys’ and girls’ varsity JV tennis players –Annual Christ
Community Trunk N’ Treat Community Service – When: Wednesday, October
29th from 5:30-8:00 P.M. Where: CCC 3370 113th Avenue, Allegan. The tennis
teams will be running the games inside the church. This is a great event for the
community (over 1,000 kids and parents attend) and for our tennis program.
Community Service forms will be provided. Please wear something that says
Allegan Tennis. Please contact Coach Fales if you can help with this awesome
event.
 Bittersweet Ski/Snowboard – join the Allegan Independent Ski Club for 20142015 ski season. The club card is $15.00 for both student and adult. This card gets
you discounted ski lift and rental rates. Please make checks payable to Bittersweet
Ski Resort. You may pick up your application forms from the main office or go to
Alleganps.org web page parent links. Drop off your signed paid application to
Vanessa Sagodic/Allegan Independent Sponsor at L.E. White Middle School.
 Timber Ridge Ski Club 2014-15 pay-as-you-go student and adult information and
forms are available in the main office. Questions please call Mindy Sturman at

 The APS Fieldhouse, behind the middle school, is now open to the community for
walkers, joggers, during the following hours: 6:00-7:30 A.M. and 5:30-7:30 P.M.
(Monday-Friday).
 Students can purchase student tickets PRIOR to any athletic event for just $1.00.
Students need to purchase these tickets before school, during lunch, or after school
until 4 P.M. NO TICKETS WILL BE SOLD AFTER 4 P.M.
 Tickets are now available for advance purchase for Shrek the musical. Adults are
$9 and all youth are $7. Freshmen did receive a $1 off coupon at the beginning of
the year so if you can still find it, please use it. Show dates are Nov. 13-15 with all
shows at 7:00 P.M. See a cast member or the main office to get yours today!
 Time is running out! If you want to pre-order your 2014-15 yearbook at the
cheapest price of the year, you need to take care of it by Halloween! The price is
$58.30. Go to jostensyearbooks.com to order. See Ms. Conrad if you have any
questions.
 Here are your Technology Tip of the Week from your Digital Tech Team.
1. Do not turn off your computer by holding down the power button, use your
window button (bottom left corner).
2. The first thing you should do if your computer is not working is shut it off and
turn it back on.
3. Be sure to get your updates at home instead of school.
4. If your internet is not working, look at your F12 button. The light should be
white not orange.
 Are you ready to have some awesome Spanish Club activities! Do you want to
save your seat for the spring field trip? Then come sign-up for the Spicy Spanish
Salsa Club Fundraiser with Mrs. Ojeda-Greig or Senor Westgate today.
 Allegan Alternative High School is having a blood drive on Wednesday,
November 5th from 10:00 A.M. to 3:45 P.M. If you have questions, please call Jane

 Cell Phones- the media center is collecting cell phones. Please bring in your
unused cell phones to the media center. Collection is on-going, so bring them in
anytime.
 Attention students who plan on visiting a college during this school year. There
are College Visitation Forms in the Attendance Office that need to be taken with
you on your visit. The form needs to be signed by a college official. Once the form
is signed and turned back into the Attendance Office your attendance code will be
changed to PSO. You are allowed 2 PSO absences per YEAR, not per TRI, and
these are not counted as absences. Please see Mr. Orr or Mrs. Lange if you have
any questions.
 Attention students: If you have a vacation or time that you need to take off and
you will be absent for 3 or more days, you need to pick up a Prearranged Absence
Form in the Attendance Office. This form has to be signed by your parent/guardian
and initialed by all your teachers. Once the form has been filled out you can return
it to the Attendance Office. This form helps not only your teachers to know that
you will be gone, but the Attendance Office. Also be aware that it is your
responsibility to get your work from your teachers for your absence, it will not be
requested for you. Please see Mr. Orr or Mrs. Lang if you have any questions.
 French Club is selling headphones for $3 and wireless mice for $5. See Ms. Boes
or Mrs. Kiel before or after class.
 Are you interested in joining a No H8 club to make Allegan a more accepting
place for all people to feel safe and be themselves? Join us every Wednesday in
room 806 at lunch to be a part of this new club and to make a difference. Feel free
to bring your lunch and your FRIENDS!
 Hey Seniors! Bring your college acceptance letters into the counseling office, let
us make a copy and we are going to hang them up to show off how awesome you
are!
