NSW PSSA State Athletics
Over Wednesday and Thursday last week, the NSW PSSA State Athletics was held at Sydney International Athletics
Centre, Homebush. Pleasingly, Caddies Creek was represented by 6 students in 2014: Tuliana Kabuyawa (Yr 2),
Michael White, Ante Vojvodic, Jake Baptiste (Year 4), Nabarum Tamang (Yr 5) and Jarrod Henson (Year 6).
Across the two days, we had three finalists – a wonderful achievement! Our Junior Boys Relay Team (Nabarum,
Michael, Ante and Jake) finished as the 6th fastest relay team in the state. Also, Tuliana Kabuyawa finished terribly
close to the medals in placing 4th in the 8 years Girls 100m. And in a tightly contested Junior Boys Long Jump, where
the places changed several times in the final rounds, Jake Baptiste finished 2nd in the state. This earned Jake a silver
medal, plus a spot in the State Team to travel to Tasmania for the School Sport Australia Athletics Championships in
November. Congratulations to Jake and our other Caddies competitors!!! .
