Caddies Creek Public School Chronicle Term 4 Week 5 Weekly Newsletter for Parents 6th November, 2014 News from the Principal Dear Dads and Mums, School Website- A reminder that recently there has been a small addition to our school website www.caddiescrk-p.schools.nsw.edu.au On the opening home page there is a section under Latest News and Features, at the top, entitled “Latest Info”. We will endeavour to include very up to date information re cancellations and postponements, late excursions etc when they are required. It will be updated tomorrow when Yr 6 are returning from Canberra, giving parents approximate arrival time. Upcoming Events 13th Nov Day One Kinder Orientation Kinder Orientation– Kindergarten 2015 Orientation will be held over two sessions with both commencing at 9.15am and concluding at 10.45am: 1. Thursday 13th November, 2014 – Parent Information Session and child visit to Kinder class 2. Additionally, if you know of any families moving into the area please get them to contact the office to arrange enrolment. Thank you. Parents who have children who will be enrolling in Kindergarten 2015 are asked to obtain an enrolment form from the office. Parking around the School – Thank you to the vast majority of parents who always drive and park around the school with care. Mostly, parents and carers obey the rules and ideals of our large “No Parking” zone in Currawong Street. When used appropriately, it really aids the efficient picking up and dropping off of children. Please encourage your children to get in or out of the car as quickly as possible so that your “space” can be used by the next family. A reminder that drivers are not to leave the vehicle or stay longer than two minutes. Also, a further reminder to never double park. If a space is not immediately available, please do not wait for one, go up further in the street or around the block. Thank you for your continued support to ensure the safety of our precious children. (Week 7) THEME: "Crazy Colour" - dress in your most colourful outfit with sensible shoes :K-2 Time: 3-6 Time: 5.00pm - 6.15pm 6.30pm - 8.00pm Cost: $5 includes free drink Tickets will be on sale from Monday 17th November under the COLA. 2015 Years 3 – 6 Boys’ Dance Group Auditions will be held this term for a Year 3 – 6 boys’ dance group for 2015. There will be a maximum of 20 places in this group. An audition for interested Year 2 boys will be held in the hall during first half lunch on Thursday 13 th November. Year 3 boys will audition on Monday 10th November, Year 4 boys on Tuesday 11th November and Year 5 boys on Wednesday 12th November. Dance experience is not necessary. A final combined audition will take place on Monday 17th November and boys will be notified by Friday 21st November if they are successful in gaining a place in this group. This was very successful last year with some very happy winners thanks to all of the kind prize donations we received from the school community. This year we plan to make it even better with more hampers up for grabs. With that in mind - PLEASE HELP US!! We need your help in building the grocery hamper prizes. We would like to request a donation of just one Christmas or grocery item from each family. It can be a small or large item, as long as it is non perishable and has a use by date in 2015 or later. Some ideas may be grocery items, chocolates, lollies, wine, snacks, Christmas decorations....the possibilities are endless! Use your imagination and let’s see if we can come up with fantastic Christmas hampers with lots of variety! Items can be left at the school office. Raffle tickets have been distributed with this week’s chronicle. Further details regarding the raffle including the price of the tickets and when the raffle will be drawn are printed on the tickets. Thank you for supporting the P & C Christmas Raffle! Date for the diary – Second hand uniform pool. Our last uniform pool for the year will take place on Friday 28th November from 2.30-3.15pm under the COLA. If you do have any good quality school items that you no longer need, or if you know anyone who is no longer at the school and has any items that they wish to donate, they can be left at the office for collection by the P & C. 100% of money received will be invested in resources for the school. Watch the chronicle for further details regarding the uniform pool in the upcoming weeks. – The P & C AGM will be held on Wednesday 26th November 2014 at 7.30pm in the Staff room.
