Members & Friends,
The month of November provides many of us with the

opportunity to reflect on our Veterans and especially on

thank all Veterans for their service on this special day.
Upon conclusion, Towson Post 22 will hold a reception for
all participants and guests at the Post Home off York rd.

Monday October 13th this year and was a huge success. The Participating Elks are to assemble at the Lodge by 10:45am.
weather presented challenges but the event went on as
planned. A special thank you goes out to all golfers that honored their commitment even though they chose not to play
in the inclement weather. Our event chairmen worked tirelessly to bring in many new sponsors and make the day
pleasurable for all that participated. Thank you, Roger, Jenks, Brian, Bob, Bob & Bob for your leadership and all the
members that attended and contributed to the organizational and planning meetings before the event.
Our Law Enforcement members provided another Philly Cheese Steak Night on Thursday October 16th. The road trip to
purchase the authentic rolls was definitely worth the miles. Thanks ladies and gentlemen for making this night special
for all that attended.
As the holidays approach, please remember the many charitable events that our Lodge supports. Every Christmas our
members volunteer and collect food and toys for the less fortunate in our community. Please consider participation in
one or all of these events so that the community can witness firsthand what we are all about.
John Wontrop.
Adopt-A-Family Gift Tag Tree
VETERANS THANKSGIVING DINNER
The gift tag tree will be at the Lodge again this year as we
continue to work with the Baltimore County Social
Services “Adopt Family” program. Each gift tag will
contain name, age, and 3 gifts desired for each child of
the “adopted families”. These three gifts each range from
$10.00 to $25.00. Please select a tag, write down on a
separate piece of Elks stationary the information on the
tag, then print your name and phone number on the tag
and place it back onto the tree. When you return with
your wrapped gifts, remove the gift tag from the tree and
place it on the gifts under the tree. The gifts MUST be
back wrapped under the tree by December 19th.
PLEASE JOIN US TO GIVE THANKS TO OUR
VETERANS FOR THEIR SERVICE TO OUR
GREAT COUNTRY
Thank you for your support in making these children have a very
Merry Christmas.

Mitten & Hat Tree
This year we will again be working with St. Jerome’s Head
Start Program in South Baltimore. This is a pre-school day
care center caring for children from one to five years of
age while their parents are at work. Each year St. Jerome’s
has a “store” where parents can “buy” clothes and toys
with points they have accumulated by volunteering/
working at the daycare center. The deadline for donations
will be December 19th. In addition to mittens, the center
can use unwrapped new toys and clothing. Look for the
Mitten Tree in the dining room at the Lodge.

Welcome to Fall (or is it winter) One day I'm
soaking up the sun (with sunscreen of course) and
the next day I'm looking for my winter coat. So
here we are in Raven country and enjoying it
every cheering moment. The best place to witness
this fun activity is the Elks Lodge, where you
probably will meet your LOTE friends and the ELKS
of course. (come on down) People are still talking
about the LOTE Bus trip and I'm sorry to have to
tell them to wait until the spring, so you are on
your own until then. I have been away for a while,
so I have missed some things around the Lodge
but luckily I'm back enjoying the fun, the music the
dinners. We, the Lote will be welcoming some new
members this Fall and are looking forward to
more new members. Tell your friends, some
people are not sure of the eligibility, so if there are
any questions contact me or a Lote member. Have
to sign off I'm in the middle of making my Xmas
List (don't laugh, it will be here before you know
it) Don't forget the Bar Bingo event every first
Saturday of the month; I saw you last time and I
do believe you won. Come try again and don't
forget those delicious Friday night dinners at
the Lodge. It's where friends meet!!
Til next time... have fun.... Peggy Flanigan,
Secretary, LOTE.
