The departed We give thanks for the lives of those who have died recently; for
those whose anniversaries of death occur around this time especially Jean
Scarrebrook, Robert Joseph Hiscox; and for those who the Church calls us to
remember this week: All the Saints; Richard Hooker, Anglican priest and
teacher; Saints, martyrs, missionaries and teachers of the Anglican Communion.
 Rest eternal grant unto them O Lord & let light perpetual shine upon them
Following the sermon, the service continues with the Nicene Creed — page 123,
intercessions and then the Litany of the Saints on the insert.

Music Notes
The anthem during communion is "The Beatitudes" by the contemporary English
Composer William Llewellyn (b 1925). It is based on today's Gospel Reading and
Psalm 25, 4, and accompanied on the new Schimmel piano. The concluding voluntary is "Pavilioned in Splendour" by the contemporary English organist/
composer Richard Lloyd (b 1933).

A reading from the first letter of St John
See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God;

Thank you to Barbara Rounsevell for her generous gift of a new piano for our
church in recognition of her own love of music and participation in our music

THE AUSTRALIAN ANGLICAN CHURCH CALENDARS 2015 Orders for the Anglican
Church Calendar are now being taken. Please add your name to the list in the
Narthex if you would like to order this calendar. Illustrations of the churches
included in next year’s calendar are also on the notice. Calendars cost $12.00

Kids’ Church – Sunday, 2nd November at 11.15am Kids’ Church today will focus on
the story of Joshua, and how nothing is impossible with God. Our activities – songs,
story, prayers and craft will relate to this. We start with refreshments in Trinity Hall at
10.45am, then so that the families get a chance to talk to each other after Kids’
Church a sausage sizzle follows.

TRINITY@HOME Ladies group will NOT be meeting on Thursday the 6th of November
as this is Fair week and all rooms will be set up for the Fair Jenny
Trinity @ Home Ladies Group. Our final meeting for the year will be Morning Tea at
the Freckled Hen; Union Road, Thursday the 4th of December at 1030 am on. Cost
$12 per person. We will be in the courtyard, I have tried it out and it is very pleasant and quiet! Please sign the sheet in the Narthex so that I can provide numbers

New piano for Holy Trinity We wish to express our thanks to Barbara Rounsevell who
has donated the new Vogel by Schimmel piano which will be dedicated
today replacing the Beale piano which has been moved to Carter Hall. We also
wish to thank Richard Hoy, Ivor Buxton and Jennifer James who spent many of
hours on several days researching and playing pianos to find the most suitable
instrument. We are sure it will provide many years of beautiful music to choirs,
congregations and performers alike. At the end of the service after the postlude
Jennifer James will play the Schubert Impromptu in A flat, Op. 90 no. 4 on the new
piano.
Promoting the Spring Fair Thank you to those who took bundles of the flyers to distribute to letter boxes in the area. We still have a few left to go. For parishioners
who live in retirement villages and apartments, please take a flyer or two to go up

on community notice boards. It all helps to spread the word.
Plant Stall It would be appreciated if plants that are being prepared for the Fair
could please be labelled, as that makes it much easier to sell them and to get a
better price. And so that the plant stall ladies have time to price them, please
bring the plants by Thursday lunchtime. Many thanks – June Anderson 9808 0390
Pre-loved Clothing – Donations of good quality, clean clothes will be accepted for
sale at the Fair. Please bring to the Church on Cup Day, or prior to Friday 7th November, for sorting and pricing. Goods which sell well are children’s clothing,
coats, mens’ clothing, ladies wear etc. Sporting clothes and sleepwear does not
seem to be particularly appealing.
Sorry, but we cannot accept donations of

Music Notes for Choral Evensong - 2 November 2014 for All Saints Day
The Introit is “The Souls of the Righteous“ by English musician and composer
Stanley Marchant (1883-1949). He held a range of musical positions including
organist at Paul’s Cathedral London from 1927 to 1936 and Principal of the Royal
Academy of Music.
The words of this short anthem are based on Wisdom 3, 1&2.
The souls of the righteous are in the hand of God, and there shall no
torment touch them. In the sight of the unwise they seemed to die, but
they are in peace.
Psalm 150 is sung to the festive setting by the C V Stanford (1852-1924).
The Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis will be sung to the setting in D by the English
organist and composer Herbert Brewer (1865-1928), a contemporary of Stanford.
He held various church positions culminating in his appointment to Gloucester
Cathedral in 1896. We sang his anthem “Let the people praise thee” earlier this
year.
The Anthem is “What are these” by the English composer and organist John
Stainer (1840-1901) with words from Revelation 7, 13-17. He held a range of
musical appointments including organist at Paul’s Cathedral London from 1872 to
1888 (see Stanley Marchant above) and Professor of Music at Oxford. He
composed a range of church music including the cantata “The Crucifixion” for
which he is best known today.
Hallelujah! What are these that are arrayed in white robes and whence
come they?
These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed
their robes,
and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Hallelujah!
Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and
night in His temple:
They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore;
neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.
For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them unto living
fountains of waters: And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
