SERMON NOTES NEW LEADER FOR IMB

SERMON NOTES
NEW LEADER FOR IMB
Just in case you missed it, on August 27th,
the board of trustees at the International Mission Board voted to elect David Platt as the
new president of the IMB. Even though this
news is a little dated, it is important for us, as
a Southern Baptist Church to know and pray
for our convention leaders. Platt, who previously served as the pastor at The Church at
Brook Hills in Birmingham, brings to the IMB
a strong passion to reach the lost around the
world with the gospel of Jesus Christ. In his
books “Radical” and “Follow Me”, Platt challenges all generations to seek after the mission that God has called them to. Please be in
prayer for David Platt as he serves as the new
president of the IMB. The 2014 theme for the
IMB’s Lottie Moon Christmas Offering is “One
Sacred Effort”. More details to follow.

Welcome!
We are glad that you are here! We would love to get to know you a little and allow you
the chance to ask some questions about us. One of the greatest privileges God has given
us is to gather together to encourage one another and to worship Him. If you are a guest,
please take a moment to fill out the info card enclosed in this program. At the end of the
service, please place the card in the offering plate.
We have two unique worship gatherings we offer each Sunday. The 8:45 will be led by our
sanctuary choir and orchestra. As a congregation, we will be singing To God Be the Glory,
This Is My Father’s World, and What the Lord Has Done in Me. Paul Helms will be leading
worship for our 11:15 service.
