MCCNY’s 2014 budget for General Offerings
MCC globally celebrates “46 Years of Offering Our Light to the World”
42nd Anniversary Year at MCCNY: “Let Your Light Shine!”
The Community at Worship 11am and 7pm
(includes the 9 AM, 11 AM, and 7 PM services and all general giving through credit cards and paypal) is $220,000. The weekly offering
needed to reach this goal is $4,230 (or $18,333 per month). The total through September is $110,413. Thank you for making MCCNY your

*PRELUDE SPIRITUAL DIRECTION PROGRAM: Spiritual Direction is a process in which a mentor accompanies
one person - the directee - for an extended period of time. Through conversation, prayer, and spiritual
exercises, the mentor helps the directee clarify spiritual issues so that s/he can move toward a deeper
experience with the Divine. If you are interested in receiving spiritual direction, contact Rev. Edgard

The First Lesson
Sabiduría 3: 1-9
Las almas de los buenos están en las manos de Dios, y el tormento no las alcanzará. Los insensatos creen
que los buenos están muertos; consideran su muerte como una desgracia, y como una calamidad el haberse
alejado de nosotros. Pero los buenos están en paz: aunque a los ojos de las personas parecían castigados,
abrigaban la esperanza de no tener que morir. Después de sufrir pequeños castigos, recibirán grandes
beneficios, porque Dios los puso a prueba y los halló dignos de Dios. Dios los probó como al oro en el crisol,
y Dios los aceptó como un sacrificio ofrecido en el altar. El día en que Dios venga a juzgarlos, resplandecerán
como antorchas, como chispas que prenden entre el rastrojo. Juzgarán a las naciones y gobernarán a los
pueblos, y Dios reinará sobre ellos para siempre. Los que confían en Dios comprenderán la verdad, y los
fieles permanecerán a el lado con amor, pues Dios es bueno y favorece a los elegidos.

The souls of the righteous are in the hand of God, and no torment will ever touch them. In the eyes of the
foolish they seemed to have died, and their departure was thought to be a disaster, and their going from us
to be their destruction; but they are at peace. For though in the sight of others they were punished, their
hope is full of immortality. Having been disciplined a little, they will receive great good, because God tested
them and found them worthy; like gold in the furnace God tried them, and like a sacrificial burnt-offering
God accepted them. In the time of their visitation they will shine forth, and will run like sparks through the
stubble. They will govern nations and rule over peoples, and God will reign over them forever. Those who
trust in God will understand truth, and the faithful will abide with God in love, because grace and mercy are

You are welcome to join in any of the celebrations, ministries or
programs offered by the Church. If you have a question about where
you fit in or how to best offer your gifts and talents, please feel free
to speak to Rev. Edgard (x 223).
After each service you can pray privately with a member of the
Pastoral Staff by asking one of our Pastors to direct you to a Deacon.
After each service everyone is invited to join Social Hour in the 3rd
floor Gallery!
To participate in the liturgy at any service, simply arrive 15-30 minutes
prior to worship time and see the Liturgist.
If you would like to provide flowers for any Sunday service, please
call the office 212-629-7440 OR if you want the Church to handle
your purchase, mark your $75 donation “Altar Flowers” and attach
a brief note specifying the date you which to sponsor and any special
designation (i.e., “These flowers are provided in the memory of
________.”).
For those who cannot be with us, MCCNY worship services are aired
every Sunday at 1:30 PM on Time Warner Channel 57, RCN Channel
84 and FIOS Channel 35. If you have a question about a CD you have
