6. Pony classes restricted to riders as per DNZ Rule 463.3
7. Adults may ride ponies in horse classes.
8. Horses/ponies are restricted to 3 tests per day.
9. Horse & Pony Championships (Champion & Reserve) awarded to combinations gaining most points in one level
from 4 classes, except level 8 and Grand Prix.
10. PRESENTATION OF PRIZES – Champion & Reserve winners, National Challenge & Musical Freestyle place
getters must attend the mounted prize giving at the completion of all classes.
11. Ponies may enter the challenge class in their level, as well as the pony classes. Two entry fees required, but will
ride the test once.
12. Riders are responsible for leaving stables, yards & grounds clean & tidy before they depart the grounds.
13. NO DOGS ALLOWED or owner/s disqualified.as per the ground conditions of the Hawkes Bay A & P Assn.

17. All horses/ponies on the grounds must wear ID tags, stallion tags or ESNZ numbers AT ALL TIMES, ESNZ
numbers when competing. NON graded horses see below for specific conditions relating to your classes
18. Arena Familiarization each day, led in hand or ridden (walk only) around your appropriate arena. Times sent with
the draw.
19. Young Dressage Horse – Scores taken from Challenge Test (‘D’ test). 4yr old enter Level 1, 5yr old enter Level 2,
6yr old enter Level 3.
20. Registration of horses and riders must be current at the time of entry for all graded classes. Unregistered riders
must be ESNZ Community members for all non graded classes
Non Graded Championship
There are four classes that count for this championship (50 – 53).
Those eligible include competitive members of ESNZ as well as Community members
Division A – All riders must be CN - C2 Category (NEVER TO HAVE GAINED GRADING POINTS at
any level above Level 2 on any horse at any time)
Horse/Pony may be unregistered, or ESNZ registered for graded competitions AND MUST not have more
than 30 Level 2 or above grading points.
Riders and/or horses/ponies that have competed at CCI* or CIC *Horse Trials or above are NOT eligible for
these classes.
Division B – All riders must be C3- C9 (TO HAVE GAINED GRADING POINTS at level 3 and above on
any horse at any time)
Horse/Pony may be unregistered, or ESNZ registered for graded competitions AND MUST have more than
30 Level 2 or above grading points.
Unregistered riders must be ESNZ Community members for all non graded classes

We also require all horses competing in this section to wear identification numbers which will be allocated.
Numbers/holders are available to hire from the office for the duration of the show at a cost of $10 which you
can return to the office for a refund at the end of the event. Your horses must also wear ID tags (with name
and contact cell phone number) when not competing. These are also available at the office for $2
Hanoverian Society Sash
1. There will be TWO awards presented this season
a) Level 1 – 3
b) Level 4 and above
2. Points will be allocated on the same basis as the Event Secretary useds to determine grade
champions at the event. In the event of a tie, i.e. two or more horses obtaining the same number of
points, the winner will be the horse with the higher percentage. If there is still a tie, both names will
be placed in a hat or other container with the draw being made as directed by the event secretary and
winner will be the first name pulled out.
3. Presentation of the sashes will be in accordance with the prize giving procedures of the event.
Dressage Hawke’s Bay (NHB) Champions and Reserves.
Each horse/rider combination earns points in their four classes in their level based upon their finishing
position in their class, i.e. 2nd place scores 9 points.
The points scale is as follows,
1st = 11, 2nd = 9, 3rd = 8, 4th = 7, 5th = 6, 6th = 5, 7th = 4, 8th = 3, 9th = 2, 10th = 1
In the event of a tie the winner will be the rider placed higher in the Challenge Class.
