ADVENT CELEBRATION
SUNDAY, DECEMBER 7TH FOLLOWING WORSHIP
Mark your calendar for The Advent Event, our all-church
celebration of the joyful expectation of Christ's birth. We
will move right from worship into crafts and wreathmaking, a festive potluck meal, followed by a musical
performance. Let’s mix and mingle and celebrate! If you
have a musical, poetic or dramatic piece to share for the
performance, please let Carol-Jean Boevers know.
All persons are recipients of God's love and grace. Christ Church is a
community that embodies God's love, grace, and justice for all people.
We wish to carry out the example set forth by Jesus Christ to accept,
affirm, celebrate, and love all. We, therefore invite and welcome persons
of any age, gender, race, socioeconomic or ethnic background, sexual
orientation, gender identity, and physical and mental ability as full
participants in this community of faith.

November’s book is ORPHAN TRAIN by Christina Baker Kline.
The story is rooted in the historical moment of orphan trains in
America between 1854 and 1929 and tells the captivating story of
two very different women who build an unexpected friendship: a
91-year-old woman with a hidden past as an orphan-train rider and
the teenage girl whose own troubled adolescence leads her to
seek answers to questions no one has ever thought to ask.

Pastoral Prayer
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Creator, which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name.
Thy Kin-dom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kin-dom,
and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
