Our seniors are allowed to take study leave from this week, although regular classes are still timetabled until the 21st November to allow teachers to support students with revision and finishing internal assessments. This was won by senior student Adam Adcock. Adam received a double movie pass and chocolates. Sue Calder Library Manager Headlice. We have had cases of headlice reported in the school. Parents/ caregivers are advised to keep a watch for this and treat accordingly. Sporting News Golf Chris Pugh, Development Manager for Tasman Golf, was enjoying the sun on Tuesday as he ran introductory lessons for budding junior golfers at Greymouth High School. Chris hosted Year 9, 10 and 11 students in sessions that showed students the golfing fundamentals of how to hold a club, how to address the ball and how to swing. Feedback was impressive with most students saying the sessions were really "fun" and "challenging". A number of students indicated they would be keen to take the game a few steps further and try their skills at the local Kaiata golf links. Chris, along with Sports Coordinator Robbie Barrow, are hoping to initiate some form of joint initiative with the Greymouth Golf Club to progress the game at a junior level locally and within the school environment. With this objective in mind, the Greymouth High School 2014 Golf Champs are aiming to hit the fairways on 28 November once confirmation with the local golf club have been finalised. A Senior and Junior section is envisaged with Liam Beirne and Michael Cook likely to battle it out for senior supremacy. Pictured above right are Zoe Ching and Hannah Rissman.
