Webpages and Lesson Plans Come see how Focus has made the lesson planning process streamlined for effectiveness. Attendance & Gradebook for AGE/CTE Entering hourly attendance vs period attendance for students and the benefit of including the DOE Curriculum Frameworks in the gradebook. Scheduling What you need to know before getting started Scheduling Reports, and Course and Sections. Learn how to Build Teacher Schedule Reports and the Master Schedule Report. Accounts Receivable Highlights invoice and receipting of General Ledger funds for products or services including robust reporting tools. Tracking receivables through multi-­‐layered process using district level invoices. SESSION 2 11:00-­‐11:50 System Preferences Avoid common pitfalls and ensure that your settings and preferences are right. Curriculum Guides The state provides curriculum guides for districts to use as the standard for developing local planning tools as well as assisting the teachers with lesson planning. AGE/CTE Scheduling Adult students have a schedule that is very different from K-­‐12 students. Focus/SIS has built specific tools for the adult education market and this session will introduce these new functions. Scheduling Requests and Request Reports Learn how to make individual requests based on grad subjects and progression plans. Moving Progression plan requests to schedule requests and go over mass requests and saving requests. Next Year’s Budget Walkthrough of ERP budget tools used to analyze expenses and revenue. A new dimension in school budgeting provides reports that display, sort and filter in user directed formats. Perfect for budget planning at the school or district level. SESSION 3 1:00-­‐1:50 Application Editor Focus Users Conference l January 6 -­‐ 8, 2015 4 Focus provides an avenue for schools and districts to create an online application for enrollment and re-­‐enrollment. This session will explore the application editor and the online enrollment process. The session will also look at other users for the Application editor (transfer requests, IHPs and more). Teacher Uploads, Tests, Answer Key Only Learn how to upload assignments and tests. Special Student Services Striving for a comprehensive system, Focus SIS is developing an IEP component. Come see the workflow developed for creating a student IEP, generating the required forms and documenting meetings, contact and additional information. Elementary Scheduling This session will explain an elementary scheduling model. This will include the concept of package scheduling as well as looking at how to turn the create specials/block rotations into a practice master schedule. Purchasing/Accounts Payable Learn the purchase request process with a fully integrated approval and notification system. This session will demonstrate how various users interact to create, receive, and submit payment for purchase orders. SESSION 4 2:00-­‐2:50 Profiles and User Permissions Learn to Create Profiles, Modify User Permissions, Attach Users, Import User Data and AD/FIM Authentication ,sts Focus LMS not only provides teachers with the ability to create tests for students to take on line but Focus LMS allows the districts to create test questions for district only use, create district and school level tests, allow test results to be analyzed and loaded into test history for use in the Leading Indicator Report and more. This session will show how to create the questions, build the test, apply administrative options, review test results through various reports and more. FAFSA & Financial Aid Pull and retain your school’s FAFSA Isir reports on the individual student’s record. See how this information is then applied to the student’s internal accounts for fees and tuition. Master Schedule Builder Evaluates student requests to determine the necessary number of sections. Flexible options allow the user to create a master schedule that works within teacher, classroom and student constraints. Fixed Assets/Inventory An introduction to Focus software that interfaces fixed asset tracking with inventory control through the use of bar code scanners and powerful Survey reporting tools. This session will also demonstrate asset transfers and maintenance. SESSION 5 3:00-­‐3:50 Focus Users Conference l January 6 -­‐ 8, 2015 5 Communication Tools Learn to Print Letters and send emails and create emails from attendance chart Teacher Gradebook Setup Configuring the Gradebook correctly reduces frustration and enables Focus/SIS to provide maximum flexibility. The gradebook provides a number of informative reports. This session will focus on the Gradebook and the most useful reports for the teacher. FASTER Focus FASTER allows the district and schools to send requests to other Florida districts and import the incoming date saving data clerks valuable time. Bulk records can be transmitted for Bright Futures, Talented 20 and more. Learn how this process works and how to read error reports that may be returned. HQ/Lic Status Process Focus has collaborated with its districts to develop a process to determine the licensure status as well as HQ status at the section level based on course number and teacher certification and endorsement data. This session will look at the logic behind the report and how the process can be automated at the section level or though a nightly process. HR/Employee Self Service An overview of the ERP personnel information record-­‐keeping system utilized to create and access position control data. Highlighting the Performance Pay feature that complies with state statutes. Online personnel action forms and employee accessible tools will be discussed. SESSION 6 4:00-­‐4:50 Vendor THURSDAY, JANUARY 8 DAY 2 SESSION 7 9:00-­‐9:50 Discipline Referrals Submitting student referrals and school incidents and how they can be used in reports and advanced searches. As well as, how this information get submitted to the state. Attendance From the setup of codes to adding absences and comments, to reporting on student attendance & teacher accountability. Performance Reports and Test History Reports School administrators and teachers need a method for reviewing student current assessment data as well as a longitudinal data tracking student performance across years. Data needs to represent required state tests, college readiness scores and local assessments. The Focus Performance Reports provide this data along with summary data on teacher performance. Walk-­‐In Scheduling Before the school year begins and after opening day; requests vs. schedules. Payroll Focus Users Conference l January 6 -­‐ 8, 2015 6 This session is ideal for district level personnel and will demonstrate payroll management with district customizations. Topics include annual setup of payroll components, tax codes, benefits tables and historical reporting. SESSION 8 10:00-­‐10:50 Built-­‐in and Advanced Reports Create, save, and publish detailed reports on student data for tracking and review, using any number of demographics to drill into student subgroups. Grades, Report Cards and Transcripts Teachers and administrators can see the benefit to pulling, posting grades and publishing report cards. Standards Based Grading and Report Cards Build and customize standards-­‐based report cards with flexible layouts that are built into Focus, with standards that can be defined by quarters, semesters, or full year. Florida Reports Menu This session will review the available reports in the Florida Reports Menu. This includes the state reporting process, the "pre-­‐reporting" reports and the other reports available to districts. Internal Accounts Discussion will be on internal accounting practices using the ERP system to maintain fiscal integrity. Material demonstrated will include purchase orders, bank reconciliation, invoicing, and report tools. SESSION 9 11:00-­‐11:50 Mass Assigning Data In this session you will learn how to mass assign student data, mass assign logging fields and mass assign from the master schedule report and course catalog. Graduation and Progression Plans Learn to setup single or multiple graduation programs & how the progression plan can be used to ensure students stay on track within special programs. Point of Sale In the Point of Sale session, you will learn how to make purchases; choose items from a product list; enter one or more payments using credit cards, cash, or check; lookup transactions in the system; and print invoices and receipts. Texas Reports Menu This session will provide details on how Focus processes PEIMS, TrEX, and the PEIMS ID. The session will share how TEA Verification Reports can be used to clean source data prior to submissions. Attendance verification and TEA Attendance reports will also be discussed. SESSION 10 1:00-­‐1:50 Rollover and End of the Year Processing The rollover process begins in December and ends with year-­‐end processing the following summer. This session will review what should be rolled and what should be copied with non-­‐student options, the setup process for student rollover, and how to automate the student rollover. When to stop the rollover process and change the active school year will be discussed along with data that needs to be updated during the end of the year process. So You Think You Know Focus? Scenarios and how-­‐to’s within Focus. Job Placement/Marketing Alumni Track the students who’ve shown an interest in your district via the online applications or FAFSA application for marketing campaigns, and the success and job placements of students after graduating. Importing Testing Data Learn how to Match ID for Student IDs, about the Match process for splitting files and the different import options. Manage Integrations Districts integrate with media, phone dialing, lunch, transportation systems and more. Managed integrations provide a user-­‐friendly way to set up these daily, weekly, or periodic transfers of data to third party systems. This session will show how the queries are stored, jobs are schedules and jobs are reviewed. SESSION 11 2:00-­‐2:50 Dashboard and Custom Reports Custom reports allow the technical team to create interactive reports for use by district users. Computed fields derive output from existing fields and rules to display for the end-­‐user without the need for additional data fields. The Dashboard provides a powerful visual summary of school and district data at the fingertips of the administrator. Come see how these features can enhance your use of Focus SIS. Process Assessments/EOC’s State Assessments are loaded into Testing History but many assessments also impact student end of year grades. The Process Assessments option allows the district to connect to the testing history to update pass dates, add EOC exams and update course assessment status flags.
