49 Veterans Recognized at Veteran’s Day Program
Kouts Middle/High School’s annual Veteran’s Day program this past Monday recognized
49 veterans from our community. The program opened with the veterans escorted into
the PAR gym by seniors Alex Sanders and Jake Spaulding. The veterans entered to
American Flourish played by the high school band. Four members of the Kouts Singers
musical group (Kylie Kuebler, Elizabeth Biggs, Olivia Birky, Kelly Hershberger) performed
the National Anthem which was followed by opening remarks by senior Megan Heinold.
The Armed Forces Salute-The Pride of America played by the high school band and choir followed. A video tribute
created by the Topics in History class followed. Seniors McKenah Childress, Will Ward, Rachel Elston, Josh Cueto,
and Kylie Kuebler recognized each veteran while a member of the Class of 2015 presented the veteran with a thankyou mug. After the veterans were recognized, the band and choir followed with God Bless America. Kayla Moyer and
Jessica Huycke offered closing remarks and recognized two local veterans who have passed away in the past year.
Harlee Satoski, a sophomore at Kouts Middle/Senior High School, closed the program with the playing of Taps.
Parent Advisory Group
The Parent Advisory Group meeting scheduled for November is being postponed until
December 9, 2014 at 7:00AM. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have
caused.
2014-15 Basketball Ticket Prices
Ticket prices for boys and girls varsity and JV basketball games remain the same as
last year at $5 per adult and $4 per student. All Middle School games will remain at $3
per adult and $2 per student. We encourage our fans to purchase season tickets which
are good for all of Kouts home games except tournaments. The cost of those passes is
$80 for an individual and $150 for a family. Season passes can be purchased in the
secondary office. Go Fillies and Mustangs!
The Kouts Mustangs varsity team will kick off their 2014-15 basketball season with a home scrimmage
against Lowell this Tuesday, November 18 @ 6:00 PM. Cost of admission is one non-perishable food item,
which will be collected and given to the local food pantry. Come out and support our boys and help those in
need at the same time!

Market Day Pie Orders Due Tomorrow
Parents, it’s not too late to turn in your child’s Market

Convenience of LunchPrepay.Com Explained
Parents, have you enrolled in www.lunchprepay.com yet?
The site has two great features, one of which is
absolutely FREE! When completing your child’s profile,
just check the box that will send you free reminders
when your child’s balance becomes low. This will allow
you to send in a check/cash to the office or use your
credit card to add to the account. Using your credit
card will incur a nominal fee of $1.95, but the reminder
notification is absolutely free of charge and will ensure
that your child will always have a hot lunch when desired.
We encourage you to sign up for the free notification
feature today.

KES Hallways and Playground
To Get a New Look
Over the next few weeks, the hallways and playgrounds of KES will be looking very different. Plans are underway to
mount an Indiana, U.S., and world map in the hallways. The planets of the solar system will also be mounted. Painted on
the playground will be number lines, the alphabet, and a U.S. map. We thought that giving students the opportunity to
learn and review while outside at recess or just walking down the halls was a great idea!
A huge thank-you in advance goes out to Mr. Wright, as he will be doing the majority of the painting and installation.
(Below is a sample of the U.S. map.)
