FAFSA Forms Due March 10, 2015
Parents and students can begin to complete The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The
FAFSA is available on the website: www.FederalStudentAid.ed.gov . It is recommended to download the
form and then complete it online. You can also call for a paper copy at 1-800-433-3243. This is the form
used to determine financial aid for students pursuing post-secondary education, whether that be in grants,
loans, or work-study. It is recommended that all senior students pursuing post-secondary complete the
form, whether you think you qualify for financial aid or not. The form must be post-marked by March 10,
2015 in order to qualify for Indiana financial aid monies.
Alumni Wall of Fame
Do you know a former Kouts graduate who has achieved fantastic success after they left Kouts High
School? If so, please consider nominating them for the Kouts High School Alumni Hall of Fame. The
Alumni Hall of Fame consists of graduates who have gone on to tremendous success after graduating Kouts
High School. Hall of Fame examples are doctors, high-ranking military officers, world renowned educators,
and tremendously successful businessmen. The Alumni Hall of Fame was developed to show current
students that Kouts graduates can and do go on to lead outstanding lives with great accomplishments and
achievements. The next time you come to school, check out the Alumni Wall of Fame in the new gym lobby,
and while you’re at it, think if there is a deserving graduate you would like to honor. Nominations can be
submitted to the committee through middle/high school Principal Tom Stoner.

College Fair: Andrean High School
When: March 19, 2015 6-7:30
What is a College Fair?
Free and open to all students, College Fairs allow students and their families to
interact with Admission Representatives from a wide range of post-secondary colleges
& universities to discuss:
 Admission requirements
 Financial Aid
 College majors
 College entrance exam testing (ACT/SAT)
What happens at a College Fair?
Admission Representatives from a variety of colleges are all gathered in one place just
waiting to answer your questions. You can stop by the table of any represented
college/university.
College Fairs are an exciting chance to talk to admission counselors about schools you
may be considering after high school. You may even discover that your “dream
school” is a college or university that you may not have even considered before
attending a College Fair. In addition to talking with representatives, College Fairs
allow you to pick up brochures and sign-up for college information mailing lists. (TIP:
You may want to print labels with your name, address, e-mail, phone number,
high school name, year of graduation, & intended major)
How Can I Prepare for a College Fair?
If you are planning to attend a College Fair, think about the following questions:





Do you want to attend a two- or four-year institution? Co-ed or single sex?
What size school do you want to attend?
What programs of study are you considering?
How far from home do you want to go?
Do you wish to participate in any specific extra-curricular activities or athletics?

*CODE OF CONDUCT*
Kouts Girls Spring/Summer Softball Association firmly believes in the ideals of good
sportsmanship, honesty, courage, and respect of authority. With this in mind, we have
established the following Code Of Conduct for all age group leagues:
*All players, coaches, umpires, scorekeepers and fans shall be treated with respect.
*Coaches, players, and fans shall not demean their own players, opposing players or
umpires before, during or after the game.
*Players will be ejected from the game for throwing balls, helmets, gloves, etc.
*Any unreasonable display of emotion will elicit a warning from the umpire. This
includes the use of foul language. Upon receiving a warning, the players and coach
shall immediately stop arguing and return to his position of the dugout. Failure to do
so will result in ejection from the game, as well a flagrant violation at any time in the
game (even if a warning was not given).
As a parent or guardian, I acknowledge that I am a role model. I must show respect for all players,
coaches, spectators and support groups. I understand the spirit of fair play and the sportsmanship
expected by our school and school system. If the Code Of Conduct cannot be followed, the umpire
reserves the right to dismiss an spectator, coach or player from the field.

T-shirts Needed for Art Class
The art room is in desperate need of paint shirts. Parents,
any used adult-sized T-shirts that you can donate would
be a big help. All of the elementary students use the shirts
to protect their clothing when we do a messy project. You
can drop off the shirts at the elementary office or have
your child bring them to the art room. To finish out the
year, I am in need of at least 60 shirts. Thank you for your
help.
