Stewardship Update
We are off to a good start for our 2015 Stewardship Drive.
So far, 247 households have pledged $731,708. Of those pledges:
34 New: $43,211
82 Increased: $44,200
26 Decreased: $16,224
105 Unchanged
We hope for over 400 pledges totaling around $1.2 million to keep us at
our current level of ministry.
If you haven’t pledged, please return your card by mail or in person. You
can also pledge online from the home page of our website stpaulsfay.org. If

Celebrate Mary' Miller's 20+ years of service
Come celebrate Mary as she retires from our staff with a big "Thank You"
party and Festive Reception after the 8:45 & 11:00 services today.
VESTRY NOMINATIONS
We welcome nomination suggestions for our upcoming Vestry elections. We
will elect four persons to three year terms. The election will be at our
Annual Meeting in January, but we usually nominate a slate of eight persons
and have balloting in December to identify nominees for the election. The
Vestry is collecting names through Sunday November 23. To serve, one
must be at least 16 years old, a confirmed communicant, and a contributor
of record. Voting will be Sunday December 7th, and a run off on December
14th, if needed.

Concert for Children
Healing in Japan and Arkansas
Miho Oda Sakon is an extraordinary violinist with a big
heart. Please come to her 4th Annual Benefit Concert
this Today at 3:00 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Each of Miho's
concerts have helped the recovery efforts in her homeland
following the terrible 2011 Tsunami in Japan that took over
20,000 lives and left 250,000 homeless. This year Miho is
also responding compassionately to the devastating tornado
that damaged Mayflower and Vilonia in Miho's other
homeland - Arkansas. Tickets are $25 at the door.
Walk for St. Jude’s
Happy Fall! There is so much to be Thankful for!!! Clayton and I
want to start by saying thank you to this congregation! Thank you for
lifting us up when we were trying to make it one day at a time.
We are Thankful for Life. We are Thankful for this Community. We
are Thankful for Family and Friends. We are Thankful for this
Church. We are Thankful for St. Jude's Children Research Hospital.
In a not so distant past we would be home for two weeks, and then at St.
Jude's on the third week. Days turned into weeks, which turned into
months. Days filled with chemo, eye drops, tumors that may or may not
be shrinking, detached retinas, laser treatments, central lines, radiation,
cataract surgeries, medicine that puts you to sleep, medicine to ease the
pain, medicine to keep you from being sick, medicine to stop bleeding.
These moments haven't defined us, but they did make us stronger; God
Graced us with His Divine Spirit of Strength. We are so Thankful that
we are in a different place right now. A place filled with going to school,
doing homework, READING, playing with friends, riding horses, Girl
Scouts, being a little sister to Isabelle, and a daughter to Clayton and I,
her parents. We are so Thankful that Eleanor sees, mostly with her left
eye, but she still sees. She is learning Braille in her public school
(AMAZING)!!!!!
We can never forget how all encompassing St. Jude's was for us and still
is for the families going through childhood cancer. How supportive and
helpful they are in every aspect of having to be in another city seeking
treatment, where many families stay for months at a time.
We will never forget the young friends that we have lost to childhood
cancer. Inside we are always Praying and Hoping. Praying for the
families that have lost their babies all too soon. Praying for Healing and
for Love to Shine Through. Hoping for one day not to hear the word
cancer on anyone's lips. We were reminded of how important it is to
remember. We will walk Saturday, November 22, 2014, because we
always will be so very Thankful....and yes, it will be chilly ;-)

and Carols, 5:30 PM in the church. MultiGenerational Advent Wreath Making and Soup
Supper in the Parish hall, immediately after
Lessons and Carols.
Wednesday, December 3
St. Nicholas Night. Come eat dinner at 5:15, then
attend church, where we will have a special visit
from St. Nicholas. Children leave their shoes in
the hall to be filled with a sweet surprise.
Sunday, December 14 St. Lucy Day. St. Lucy
tells her story at the 8:45 service, and then
delivers Lucy Buns to the children's classrooms
during the 10:00 hour.
Thursday, December 18
Christmas Pageant Practice, 5:30 in the church,
followed by a pizza party in the Parish hall for all
families.
Sunday, December 21, 4:00 PM
All children are invited to be in the
CHRISTMAS PAGEANT!
Monday, December 22
Blue Christmas, a quiet pastoral service for those
who are grieving this holiday season. 7:00 PM in
the church.
Angel Tree for Community
Meals Keep an eye out for the Community
Meals Angel Tree in the welcome center after
Thanksgiving. Take an angel, and help purchase
a few items for one of our weekly guests at our
Community Meals Luncheon.
Community Meals Needs your Help
Please pick up a turkey in the kitchen freezer, cook, slice
off the carcass and return to the kitchen Sunday,
November 23rd for our Community Meals
Thanksgiving Feast on Monday November 24.
Also, we would welcome home baked desserts for our
guests to enjoy. Thank you all for your continued
support of this most important ministry!

St Martin’s University Center
We have almost 100 people attending our twice monthly
home-cooked meals at St. Martin's every 2nd and 4th
Monday at 6:00 pm. Each Thursday, Rev. Lora Walsh leads
evening prayer at 8:00 PM. Students, young adults, faculty
and interested parishioners invited and WELCOME!!
Weather Policies We always have Church on
Sundays. Use your good sense and discretion though.
If the Fayetteville Public Schools close, our default is
to cancel our programming for that day unless the
particular program wishes to meet nonetheless. YOUTH If the public schools are closed, Youth events are cancelled.
If there is a hazardous weather warning, youth events are
cancelled. Go to weather.gov, type in our zip code, and
look for warnings. We'll try to get notices out to parents and
youth.
