Attention: Amber Guard Auditions for all interested girls: Auditions for the
2015-1016 Hamilton Heights Amber Guard will take place this week immediately
after school in the band room at the high school from 3:00 to 5:00 PM. All
interested girls are invited to participate in the audition process. We are looking
for girls who are interested in learning to spin a flag and rifle. If you have dance
experience that would be great as well. If you are interested in auditions, please
pick up an audition packet in the band room office or in the main office from Mrs.
Davis. Please turn in all appropriate forms to Mr. Waltz in the band office or you
can return them to Mrs. Davis in the main office.
ATTENTION SPEECH TEAM: Sign up sheet for the New Castle Meet,
11/22, is posted in room 505. Workshop today, Tuesday, and also this
Thursday in room 505.
It isn’t too late to receive a coat for winter. If you know of anyone in need
of a coat for their child, please pick up a flyer in the office. Sizes infant
through triple XL are available.
STUDENT GOVERNMENT MEMBERS who have signed up to work the School
Board – Legislator Dinner: please remember that it is THIS WEDNESDAY, NOV.
12TH. Please see Mrs. Knapp or Mrs. Davis if you have any questions or need
reminded of your shift time.
A reminder to all students that information flyers about the BLUSH program
are on Mrs. Hildebrand’s door. Pre-sale tickets are $8 & can be purchased
from Mrs. Hildebrand. They are $10 at the door. We are taking a bus,
which leaves at 4:30 from the high school. This is a co-ed event for grades
8 through 12. We hope you will join us!
“We would like to honor Veterans/active personnel to a free lunch on Veterans Day
November 11th to say thank you for their duty. Please stop by the cafeteria and see Mr.
Leeman to get an invitation that you can personalize to the person you would like to invite.
The invitations are just to give us a count of how many possibly will be attending but if some
reason you do not get an invitation they can still come enjoy a free meal to say thank you”.
Attention all fall athletes…. Fall Athletic Awards Night is tonight, November 11th
starting at 7:00 PM. Cookies and punch will be served beginning at 6:30
pm. Remember that the athletic awards are a dress up event, but we ask that you
stay within school dress code guidelines… And remember TO TELL YOUR
PARENTS about awards night! We hope to see you all there!
Attention: The HH band is once again selling the “Discover Indy” coupon books,
formerly known as the “Zoo Book” through Nov. 17th. They are great as
Christmas gifts and it is very easy to save more money than you spend if you
remember to use the books. I usually save at least $100 a year by using the
coupons. Please see a band student or check with Mr. Waltz or Mrs. Hicks if you
are interested in purchasing a coupon book.
Students: Please be sure to visit your My Big Campus wall often for information
from the main office.

Conditioning for boys and girls distance runners starts Monday, November
3. It runs Monday through Friday from 3:00-4:15. Meet Coach Hippensteel
and Coach Trachtman in the back hallway by the weight room dressed and
ready to run at 3:00 sharp each day.
There will be open conditioning for track team members on
Tuesdays and Thursdays 3:00 – 4:15 after school. All workouts will
be inside. Meet in the back hallway by Coach Jones’ office.
Softball open fields will continue. Any girl interested in trying out for softball
in the spring is welcome. Join us on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 –
6:00 pm out at the diamond. Make sure you have the appropriate paper work
for your physical turned in to the athletic office. See Coach Lockwood with
any questions.
Guidance Announcements
IUK is proud to present a “Parents’ Roadmap to College” Program. It will be held on
Tuesday November 18th from 6:30pm -8:30pm at the Kelley Student Center, Room
130. This is an informational session for parents to get a better understanding of
college in general – not just IUK. The college application process, financial aid,
scholarships, and accessibility services are a few of the topics that will be covered.
Please RSVP by Friday November 14 at www.iuk.edu/parent-visit.
Are you a senior who plans on attending Indiana University-Bloomington? The
Collins Living-Learning Center might be of interest to you. Collins is a close knit
community of 500 students-the smallest residence hall on campus-and also a
diverse one! For a student who wants a small college experience at a major
research university, the Collins Living-Learning Center is a wonderful choice. To
learn more about the Collins Living-Learning Center feel free to pick up a brochure
in the Guidance Office.
The IVY Tech Associate Accelerated Program (ASAP) provides Ivy Tech College
students with the opportunity to earn a degree in one year instead of the
traditional two-year track. Please feel free to pick up information about the Ivy
Tech ASAP Program in the Guidance Office.
Seniors: The Associated Accelerated Program (ASAP) is a program at Ivy Tech
that allows students to earn a two year degree in just one year. Please stop by the
Guidance Office to learn more about this tremendously affordable way to complete
an Ivy Tech degree!
Seniors: Please feel free to stop by the Guidance Office and pick up a brochure
with in depth College Admissions Information for all Indiana public and private
Colleges. Important application fee and deadline information are included in this
document.
Are you a highly academic high school interested in the field of Medicine? The
National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine might be of interest to you. Stop by
the Guidance office if you would like more information on this opportunity.
All Juniors and Seniors: Please click here for a helpful guide for SAT and ACT
Test Preparation Options. Online Test Preparation sites, local and/or Independent
Tutors, and SAT/ACT Guides are included on this from! Please feel free to print
this information off to help assist your child in preparation for taking the ACT or
SAT test.
The Navy ROTC program is a great way to get college paid for… and be part of the
Naval branch of our Armed Forces. Notre Dame is the one school in-state that has
a NROTC program, but numerous out of state universities have this opportunity.
Please feel free to pick up information in the Guidance Office, or talk with the
Navy representative who visits our school.
Are you a senior interested in Indiana State University? Sycamore Preview Days
will be held on November 11, February 16, and April 18. Please feel free to call 800GO-TO-ISU for more information. In support of College GO Week ISU will waive
its standard $25 undergraduate application fee during the entire month of
September!
Scholarship Information
Seniors: The Elks Most Valuable Student Scholarship deadline is December 5,
2014. Application forms can be downloaded at www.elks.org. You will find a plethora
of scholarship information under the links “MVS Scholarship Applications Now
Online” and “Legacy Scholarship Applications Now Online.” Applicants who live in
Hamilton County must submit their application to the Noblesville Elks Lodge which
is located on 35 South Ninth Street in Noblesville.
The Prindle Institute of Ethics at Depauw University is delighted to announce their
first annual High School Essay Contest. Five high school students will be awarded
$300 for submitting the best essays. The topic question is: Should the United
States enact travel bans to regions with Ebola outbreaks? Go to

for submissions is January 10, 2015.
Seniors: The Knights of Pythias-Grand Domain of Indiana Scholarship Program
may of interest to you. You must have at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point
average to apply. Please feel free to stop by the Guidance Office to pick up an
application. The application deadline is January 25, 2015.
Are you a senior interested in attending IUPUI? Incoming freshman who apply for
admission to IUPUI by December 1, 2014, and meet the following criteria are
offered an IUPUI Chancellor’s Scholarship and direct admission to IUPUI Honors
College: a cumulative high school GPA of 3.75; a minimum ACT composite score of
28 or SAT score of 1250 or higher(critical reading and math scores combined).
Are you a senior interested in majoring in Business at Ball State University next
fall? The Miller Scholarship and Miller Business Scholarship might be of interest
to you. To be considered for the Miller Scholarship, applicants must have high
grades and test scores. The current Miller Scholarship recipient had a cumulative
GPA of 3.82, a mean SAT score of 1850 and an average composite score for the
ACT was 28. All scholarship materials must be received by Ball State by January
31, 2015. Program information, application, and current student profiles are

Are you a senior interested in attending the University of Dayton? UD is pleased
to offer the opportunity to award one graduating senior the Leadership in Service
Scholarship worth $2,500 annually. Please feel free to stop by the Guidance Office
if you would like more information about this scholarship opportunity. The
scholarship deadline is January 31, 2015.
The Ronald McDonald House Charities Scholarship seeks to invest in students who
are exemplary role models in their communities and have initiative to fulfill their
educational goals. Graduating seniors should visit www.rmhc.org for more
information or apply today at https://aim.applyists.net/RMHC. The application
deadline is January 20, 2015.
Are you a senior who plans on pursuing further education with either a major or
minor in Music? Do you have a cumulative GPA above a “C” average? The Hamilton
County Choral Club Scholarship ($500) might be of interest to you. Please feel
free to pick up an application in the Guidance Office. The application deadline is
February 1, 2015.
Are you a senior interested in pursuing an accredited post- secondary educational
program in fashion design? The “Aspiring Fashion Professional” Scholarship might
be of interest to you. Please go to http://www.fashion-schools.org/ and find more
information (at the bottom of the page) about this $1,000 scholarship. The
application deadline is June 1, 2015.
Are you a senior interested in pursuing an animation career path at an accredited
post-secondary institution? The “Aspiring Animation Professional” Scholarship
might be of interest to you. Go http://www.animationcareerreview.com/ to find
(right side of page) eligibility information. The application deadline is June 1, 2015.
Are you a senior interested in majoring in Business in college? The Indiana State
University Networks Scholarship might be of interest to you. Qualified students
must should possess two of the following three criteria: at least a 3.5 cumulative
GPA, above a 23 ACT or 1070 (combined critical reading and Math) SAT, and be
ranked in the top 15% of the graduating class. To be eligible to apply, students
must be admitted as incoming freshman to Indiana State. A select group of the
best and brightest students will receive a full tuition four-year scholarship to ISU!
The application deadline is December 1, 2015. Additional information, along with

Are you a senior planning to pursue a career in a health-related field at a postsecondary college, university, or technical school? The PHP Scholarship Program
might be of interest to you. Go to www.phpni.com and click on the “2014-15
Scholarship Program” article on the home page to learn more about this scholarship
opportunity. The deadline for submission is February 20th, 2015. You must have a
minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
All Seniors: The Central Indiana Community Foundation Scholarship Guidebooks are
now available in the Guidance Office. These General Application Scholarships will
be made available(online) to Hamilton County students on November 17th. Please
feel free to read through the Guidebooks to learn about all of CICF scholarship
opportunities. Starting on November 17th you can go online at
www.cicf.org/scholarships to see which scholarships you are interested in pursuing.
Seniors: November 1 is the deadline for IU Achievement Scholarships and
Selective Scholarship consideration at Indiana University for students applying for
fall 2015!
Are you a senior interested in attending Lincoln College of Technology? Please feel
free to stop by the Guidance Office for important scholarship Information.
The Richard G. Lugar Minority Scholarships are awarded to outstanding seniors
students who plan on attending an Indiana College in the fall of 2015. To be eligible
you must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA and score above a 22 on the ACT and 1000 on
the Math/Critical Reading components of the SAT. You must be a minority student
(African American, Hispanic, or Native American) to apply. Feel free to pick up an
application in the Guidance Office. The application deadline is December 5, 2014.
Are you a senior interested in attending the University of Notre Dame? The
Hesburgh-Yusko Scholars program might be of interest to you. Please feel free to
stop by the Guidance Office to learn more about this opportunity. The application
deadline for this program is November 15, 2014.
The Christian Connector provides a FREE Christian college information service as
well as a $2,500 Christian college drawing. Students can simply log onto
www.ChristianConnector.com to request information and automatically be entered
in the $2,500 scholarship drawing!
