All faculty and staff on campus will be actively participating in this exercise in order to provide a safer environment for all of us in the event of a real emergency on campus. Again, this is only a drill, we will not lockdown or evacuate. Excuse the Interruption … On Friday, November 14 through Monday, November 17, ACC will be upgrading its student information system. During this time all registration activity will be shut down and WebAdvisor will not be available. This means students will not be able to register/add/drop classes for Spring 2015 early enrollment or access their WebAdvisor account. The upgrade process affects functions in all areas of campus, including transcripts, financial aid, business office, etc, so please anticipate your needs. We look forward to the greater flexibility and reliability this upgrade offers and thank you for your patience as we improve and advance our technology services for the future. Intelligence Gathering in the United States: Surveillance Thursday, November 13, 7pm in CTR 112. Student readings by John Maus, Angela Kamyszek, Kathy Treinen, and Mikhail Perkins. This presentation considers intelligence gathering and national security protocol regarding the intelligence community of the US in light of debates surrounding the Edward Snowden revelations. Consideration of Executive power and Congressional oversight, or lack thereof, pertaining to concentration of power and relative to the civil rights and civil liberties of American citizens will be considered.
