PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS
O Lord, our God, You renew the Church in every age by raising up
priests and nuns outstanding in holiness, living witnesses of Your unchanging Love.
In Your Plan for our salvation You provide shepherds for Your people.
Fill the hearts of young men and women at Christ the Redeemer with
the spirit of courage and love that they may answer Your call generously.
Give parents the grace to encourage vocations in their families by
prayer and good example.
Raise up worthy priests for Your Altars and nuns for your vineyard,
ardent but gentle servants of the Gospel.
Give the Church more priests and nuns and keep them faithful in
their love and service. Amen
MILITARY PRAYER LIST
We are blessed with liberty because brave members of our armed
forces have fought to keep us free. Today a new generation of
soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen and guardsmen are serving
gallantly, and we are the beneficiaries. Pray with appreciation
for their service, and ask God to bless them with strength.

LOOKING TO THE LAST DAY
MIRANDO HACIA EL ÚLTIMO DIA
Today the Church remembers all who have walked
the way of Christ and passed from this life. The readings
all look to the last day, when we shall all rise from the
dead and be reunited.
Hoy la Iglesia recuerda a todos los que han caminado el camino de Cristo y han pasado a la otra vida. Las
lecturas todas miran al último día, cuando todos resucitaremos de entre los muertos y nos encontraremos de nuevo.
The prophet Daniel announces words of warning and
welfare. He cautions us against the judgment to come,
but he also comforts us and assures us that all who live a
life of virtue and justice will find life eternal.
The reading from Romans reminds us that, because
of Christ’s passion, death, and resurrection and our entrance into that paschal mystery through baptism, we
now share in the new life won by Christ. This recognition has repercussions: we need to live righteously now,
that we might rise to life forever with Christ on the last
day.
In the Gospel Jesus pledges that all the Father has
given him will not be lost. All the faithful will be raised
to joy and live forever in the presence of God.

the love of God has been poured out into our hearts
(Romans 5:5-11) or Romans 6:3-9.

Leadership and Life
“We are blessed in the 21st century with crystal-clear
photographs and action films of the living realities
within their pregnant mothers. No one with the slightest measure of integrity or honor could fail to know
what these marvelous beings manifestly, clearly, and
obviously are, as they smile and wave into the world
outside the womb. In simplest terms, they are human
beings with an inalienable right to live….They are not
parts of their mothers, and what they are depends not
at all upon the opinions of theologians of any faith.
Anyone who dares to defend that they may be legitimately killed because another human being “chooses”
to do so or for any other equally ridiculous reason
should not be providing leadership in a civilized democracy worthy of the name.”--Cardinal Edward
Egan, Archbishop of New York (Press release, August 26, 2008).
HELPING HANDS
THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE
With the holiday season upon us, it is time to think about
helping those in need. The Helping Hands ministry is seeking donations of non-perishable food items and/or Stater
Brother gift cards for Thanksgiving food baskets. If you are
able to help, please bring your contribution to the narthex of
the church by November 16. If you or someone you know
can use some help with a holiday meal, please fill out a referral card, also in the narthex, complete with two current
phone numbers. Baskets will be distributed on Saturday,
November 22.
The Youth Ministry will be collaborating
with the Helping Hands ministry to collect
canned goods for the Thanksgiving baskets.
On Sunday, November 16th members of
the Youth Ministry will pick-up donated
canned goods from our parishioners
homes. If you would like to schedule a
donation pick-up, please complete a card
at the Helping Hands table in the narthex.

The Feast of Our Lady of Fatima is May 13
Did you know that The visions of Fatima were officially
declared "worthy of belief" in October 1930 by the Bishop
of Leiria-Fatima, Popes Pius XII, John XXIII, Paul VI,
John Paul II and Benedict XVI voiced their acceptance of
the supernatural origin of the Fatima events. On May 12
and 13 2010, Pope Benedict XVI visited the Sanctuary of
Our Lady of Fatima and gave reference to the Fatima
prophecy about the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of
Mary and related it to the final "glory of the Most Holy
Trinity". Grant Our Lady's plea that we pray the rosary for
peace and reparation of sinners by attending.

RCIA
Prayer to the Holy Family for the Synod
RCIA is the process of helping people who are interested in
knowing more about the Catholic Faith. If you are interested
or know someone who is interested, we meet every Sunday
after the 10:00 Mass in the classroom behind the Religious
Education Office. RCIA means Rite of Christian Initiation
of Adults. The process includes prayer, education and reflection on Catholic teachings and practices, and special rites
and sacred moments. Join us, inquirers are most welcome
and immediate commitment is not expected or required.
Come and visit us and discern if that is what you want.
Jesus, Mary and Joseph, in you we contemplate the
splendor of true love, to you we turn with trust.
Holy Family of Nazareth,
grant that our families, too, may be places of communion and
prayer, authentic schools of the Gospel and small domestic
Churches.
Holy Family of Nazareth,
may families never again experience violence, rejection and
division: may all who have been hurt or scandalized find ready
comfort and healing.
Holy Family of Nazareth,
may the approaching Synod of Bishops make us once more
mindful of the sacredness and inviolability of the family, and its
beauty in God’s plan.
