mukhOsh presents Brishti, finally…… 13th and 27th December 2014 Kala Mandir, Kolkata 3rd and 4th January 2015 Gyan Manch, Kolkata An original theatre experience with a flavour of cinema mukhOsh mukhOsh was established by a bunch of theatre enthusiasts from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in 2005. After several successful shows in the city, we dared to host Moitree, the first Bangla theatre festival of Bengaluru in 2008, at Ranga Shankara. We were invited by Sayak, Kolkata, and the Paschim Banga Natya Academy to perform in Kolkata. In 2009, we hosted Moitree again, in collaboration with the Paschim Banga Natya Academy. Moitree 2008 Media attention Brishti, finally….. After a long period of silence, we are planning to be back on stage, with an original play, Brishti, finally... (Rain, finally…). The play has been conceptualized and scripted by Ayan, one of the founders and the Director of mukhOsh, and a physicist by profession. mukhOsh began as an initiative by scientists, and has grown ever since. Nonetheless, we have not abandoned the spirit of science, and we love to experiment. This play breaks many rules of traditional Bangla theatre that Kolkata is accustomed to, and hopes to draw a young multiplex-going crowd to theatre. Actor and Publicity Manager, Brishti, finally… The First Season We are launching the play on Saturday, 13th December, 2014. The first season will have four shows, December 13th and 27th, 2014 at Kala Mandir, and January 3rd and 4th, 2015 at Gyan Manch, both on Shakespeare Sarani, Kolkata. Kala Mandir has a capacity of 1100 and Gyan Manch 329, making a total of 2858 possible members in the audience in the first season. We hope to have at least another season of 4-5 shows later in 2015. We have a budget of Rs.3.5 lacs for the first season. Why Sponsor? The play: Bangla theatre is going through a phase of experimentation with new styles being explored. Ours is an original play, something rather rare in Bangla theatre currently, and juxtaposes cinema and theatre to create a unique visual experience. The target audience: All theatre lovers – with a special appeal to young professionals and students, Nearly 3000 people over 4 shows. Our network: We have a large body of contacts among the IT professionals, scientists, and the theatre-loving Bengali community of Bengaluru, who have roots and family in Kolkata. Our network also spans several educational institutes of the country. Our team: Academicians and professional artistes have joined hands to rejuvenate mukhOsh in Kolkata, and launch Brishti, finally…. Sponsorship options Title sponsor (Rs. 1.5lacs): Your name would be associated with the play’s title for all 4 shows in the first season. You would be on every banner, advertisement and printed material associated with the play, and mentioned in ALL promotional material. Through us, you would feature on social networking sites regularly, as we will heavily rely on e-publicity. Associate sponsors (Rs. 80 k): You would be on every banner, advertisement and printed material associated with the play, and mentioned in promotional materials. Sponsorship options Ticket sponsors (Rs. 40 k): You would be on the reverse of every ticket for the four shows, and also on our posters. You would also be featured in our playbills. Banners: All sponsors and partners will be able to display their company banners at the venue on all four days. The spot for banners and the numbers would depend on the value of sponsorship. We welcome prospective sponsors to consider the option of displaying banners only (Rs. 10k per banner). On-stage branding options: Be a part of our play by displaying your brand in a scene. Sponsorship options Printed ads: Consider printing your ad in our playbill. Rates: 4k (1/4 page); 7k (1/2 page); 10k (1 page); 15k (inner cover). Additional charges would be applicable for ads in colour. The title sponsor would feature in the back cover of the playbill.
