It’s yours to Spend
O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for His
steadfast love endures forever. Let them extol Him
in the congregation of the people, and praise Him
in the assembly of the elders. Psalm 107:1:32
If we had no other gift from God but the
gifts of life and love, we could spend our
entire lifetime in a prayer of thanks for
these amazing gifts. Yet each of us has also
been entrusted with a personality, a set of
talents, and the freedom to choose how to
use our life. There are two ways to look at
this. One is that it is a burden from which
to escape. Unfortunately many people see
it that way. The other way to see it is as the
psalmist sees it, as wonderful opportunities
for which we must praise God.
On this the Feast of Christ the King we can
ask ourselves, how will we spend what God
has given us?
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, I praise you again for the gift of
life and for your steadfast love. Help me to be
ever joyful and not feel burdened by the freedom to
choose, with which you bless us.. Amen

Medjugorje Mass for Peace will be celebrat-
ed in the Church of St. John theEvangelist,
Tubbercurry on 28th November at 8pm.
Life asks many different questions. Life
asks how much we can love, how much
we can enjoy, how much we can endure,
how much we can forgive. Life asks if
we love ourselves and if we love others.
Perhaps the most important question
asked by life is the question of significance and meaning. What is it all about?
What is the purpose of each of our lives?
Why do we do what we do? The ultimate
answer to these questions and others
which life asks of each of us is JESUS
CHRIST. For life to make sense and to
live life to the full we have to look at it
through God's eyes - otherwise life at
some stage will become meaningless and
lose its focus.
We are praying for our diocese
because it is our desire to see life's
purpose through God's eyes and in that
divine vision discover the way forward.
