Join us this month for a traditional Thanksgiving celebration with all the usual delicious trimmings. Music will be provided by one of our favorite gospel groups, the Lighthouse Baptist Singers. Everyone is welcome. Also, in the spirit of thankfulness and charity we are gathering food for the Salvation Army Food Bank through the month of November. "A Ride to Remember" Nila & Hester with bikers Residents Nila Cheap and Hester Pierce with some of the cyclists that rode in the "Ride to Remember" to raise funds for the Alzheimer's Association. The riders traveled from Morning Pointe of Frankfort to our community in Richmond. The residents presented each of the riders with a purple ribbon pin. They also enjoyed refreshing treats before heading back! Great job everyone! NOVEMBER BIRTHDAYS! We have some great volunteers who come to play Rook, Rummy, and Bridge with us. Some of us are just learning so we'll be ready for good indoor fun this winter. Through out the month of November we will be collecting nonperishable food items to donate to the Salvation Army. After feeding over 1000 people over the last few months, food supplies are almost completely depleted at the site. Please see a Morning Pointe associate to donate or drop by your food any time during business hours to our senior living community. Thank you for helping to make a difference this holiday season. After Our Facials on Spa Day at Morning Pointe We're having a spa day at least once a month. In September, Netsa gave us facials and did our makeup. Also, Whitney West, a licensed massage therapist did chaiir massages. We're looking good and feeling great! 3rd Quarter Winner Name your game! Ralph, Louise, Alice, and Nick staff she supervises have contributed greatly to the success of our community. This isn't the first time that Belinda has been honored with this award. Balinda Mink is our third quarter Exceeding Expectations winner! Balinda has been the Resident Services Director at Morning Pointe of Richmond for several years. Her dedication to the residents and the Balinda Mink Resident Services Director Visitors Marjorie Miniard Marjorie Plucar At home as a young woman Rita & Coetta Help us with craft projects With her background as a farm girl, Marjorie developed a life-long love of growing things. She has always raised lovely flower and vegetable gardens. Marjorie Miniard A Beautiful Smile Marjorie grew on a farm in rural Agenda, Kansas. After graduating as valedictorian of her highschool class she earned a degree in Food Service from Kansas State University in Manhattan Kansas. Here at Morning Pointe, Marjorie impressed us with her skills with the crochet hook! She was the only one who could complete the crocheted necklace project. She's a natural with her hands and we are looking forward to having her help us with more art projects in the future. She ended up moving to Lexington, Kentucky after she met and married an army man from Hazard, Kentucky who was stationed at Ft. Riley. Ruth and her niece Going to a Wedding Marjorie started working in the Food Service department at the University of Kentucky. She retired from UK as a Food Production Manager. Majorie raised four children who live nearby in Madison and Estill County. She has three daughters, Becky, Jane and Kathy and one son, Jimmy. She has several grandchildren and one great-grandson.
