Grace Robinson
Part of Morning Pointe Family
Grace Robinson, born on May 21, 1930,
has always had such compassion for
children and animals, and very large
dreams that she soon figured out would
come true.
When Grace was in the fifth grade, she
had a teacher who would read to her
right before lunch. The stories were always
about traveling, and one story in
particular gave her the inspiration to
travel - the Great Wall of China.
She says, “My fifth grade teacher reading
me the stories is what inspired me to
become such a traveler.”
When she graduated from high school,
she moved on to attend Averett
University in Danville, Virginia for two
years. She then transferred to Florida State
University in Tallahassee, FL.
She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree
in Psychology and she also received her
Minor is Sociology.
“I was interested mainly in children, and I
loved psychology so I went for it,” says
Grace.
After graduating she decided to teach
young children, so from 1954–1958 she
taught in Chattanooga Public Schools.
Then she decided to follow one of her
dreams, traveling. She made a career out
of teaching English in foreign countries
like, China and four other countries
around the world. “They were so eager to
learn our English language in China,
which made it a ball to teach. I love the
Chinese, they have a special place in my
heart because they seem to welcome
Americans," says Grace.
