Wedding Day
August, 7 1953
Will you have this man/woman to
be your wedded husband/wife,
to live together in the holy bonds
of matrimony?
It was these words that Eileen and
Kenneth Beattie first invoked on
August 7, 1952. When they met
during Eileen’s senior class play,
Kenneth was in the Air Force and
began writing to her. They were
married a year later. During Mr.
Beattie's service in the Air Force,
the family traveled to many
different places, both within the
United States and abroad. She
and her first daughter Amy went
on a train

Still in love after
61 years
No matter how many times they
had to move, they loved each
other through it all. When asked
what her favorite memories are,
Mrs. Beattie simply said, “that’s
hard to pinpoint. There’s so many
of them. There are too many of
them.”
It is obvious that after all they
have been through, their
marriage of 61 years has stayed
true to their vows!

Residents made light up snowmen with
the help of volunteer Phyllis Smithson.
Using recycled milk jugs and Christmas
