FR. RYAN, FR. HAMPE AND THE STAFF OF
ST. ROBERT BELLARMINE WISH TO EXTEND
A HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL!
There are miracles every day, some are large and some
small. You can be sure that God hears your plea and
helps you in whatever way is the best for you. If you
have a special intention and would like us to join you in
prayer, call or text Shirley at 636-734-2798 or email

CARDBOARD CITY NETTED $2162.00
FOR THE ST. VINCENT DEPAUL SOCIETY!
It was worth sleeping out in the snow and the temperature did not get to the 18 degrees predicted so we were
relatively warm. Thank you for your generosity! Thanks
to all those who refused to let us go without warm food
and drink, too! The hot chocolate, the soup, and the
burgers and snacks were awesome. They came just at
the right time to warm us up and keep up going. The
peanut butter sandwiches, the bananas and oatmeal
bars carried us through the morning for an extra spurt of
energy...And we are willing to work really hard at school
so that we don’t have to be homeless again anytime too
soon!
PARISH SCHOOL OF RELIGION
The first grading period ended on November 12 and report cards will be available at Parent-Teacher Conferences on Sunday, November 23 between 10:30 and
11:30 AM. All students are to report to the parish hall
during this time so that they can create a Thanksgiving
gift for one of the families being served by our St. Vincent DePaul Society. Any parent who is unable to attend
the conferences is asked to call the office or see the catechist to schedule an appointment at another time.
In anticipation of the Thanksgiving holiday, there will be
no classes on Wednesday, November 26. As opposed
to what was previously published, the sacramental preparation classes will not meet on Tuesday, November 25.
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 23
OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST,
KING OF THE UNIVERSE
(Lec. 160)
1) Ezekiel 34: 11-12, 15-17
2) 1 Corinthians 15: 20-26, 28
3) Matthew 25: 31-46
FOCUS:
Jesus will come to judge the living and the dead and
give the kingdom over to the Father.
The theme of the final judgment, including the images of
divine kingship and a divine shepherd, dominate today’s
liturgy. Instituted by Pope Pius XI in 1925, this feast offers us the opportunity to deepen our understanding of
the mystery of Christ and beckons us to encounter Jesus, the true shepherd who guides his flock home to his
Father.
LITURGY OF THE WORD
The prophet Ezekiel speaks of a God who will shepherd
his flock and judge between the rams and the goats.
Saint Paul tells the Corinthians that at Christ’s coming he
will hand over his kingdom to his Father. In Saint Matthew’s Gospel today, Jesus describes how he, as shepherd, will recognize those who served him by serving the
least among his family.
SANTA’S WORKSHOP
Santa’s Workshop is scheduled for Saturday, December
20 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Moms and dads, this
could be your last minute opportunity to finish up the pre
-Christmas chores. Your children will enjoy four full
hours of activity as they make gifts for family and
friends, have lunch together and enjoy a visit from the
Boss himself with photo and treat bag. The cost is $10
per child. Family discount for three or more: $25. This
event is sponsored with love by the youth group.

THE GIVING TREE
Beginning Saturday, November 29, the annual Giving
Tree will be available in the back of Church. The members of St. Vincent DePaul Society want to thank you in
advance for your generous gifts that will help to make
Christmas more special for a lot of needy families in our
area. These families are the same ones that you have
helped this year by paying their utility bills and their rent.
The SVDP teams call the clients they have helped and
find out if they want/need gifts for their children. We ask
them for suggestions for two toys and three clothing
items, under $25, for each child. We then make a paper
ornament to hang on the tree for each gift requested.
An ornament asking for one item for each adult and
needed household items are also included. We ask for
gift certificates to Wal-Mart for $25 for each family so
that they can purchase additional items. Please put the
gift cards in the poor box and place the unwrapped gifts
(with the ornament tag) under the tree by Sunday, December 21. The families will pick up their gifts after 1:00
PM on that Sunday.
CARE NOTES
Those who have experienced the loss of a loved one
may find that their pain and sense of loss is more real
during the holidays. As much as others may want to,
they sometimes cannot make things better, and may
even be impatient with the prolonged grief that many
experience. Whether the loss is fresh, or the anniversary of a loved one’s death, getting through the holidays
can be a challenge. The bereaved can learn from others
who have gone before them in this experience. Several
CareNotes are now available in the church vestibule to
offer options for making choices that may offer some
comfort, peace and moments of healing during the holidays. Please take a moment to review the CareNotes
and select those that will help you in the healing process.

HELP FOR THE KOFRON FAMILY
As many of you are probably aware, Anthony Kofron
was hit by a pick-up truck on October 31st and suffered
head and leg injuries. He has been in the hospital since
that time, and has undergone many procedures on his
right leg. Anthony and his family have been in our prayers, and we continue to pray for his improvement on a
daily basis. We expect that there will be long-term procedures for him over the course of the next several
months. Having stated that information, many of you
have been inquiring what you could do to help the family. The family has set up a savings account to help defray current and future expenses. The account has been
set up through Bank of America. If you would like to
make a donation, please contact the rectory/636-9466799 so that we can give you further details.
CHRISTMAS MORNING TREATS
Fr. Dominic Garramone, “The Bread Monk”, is returning

Treats. Demo will have some quick breads that can
easily be made on Christmas morning. For further info

hospitalized. Due to HIPPA regulations, hospitals no
longer provide this service for patients. Also, please notify the Rectory if the person you put on the Prayer Chain

healing so that we may remove their name. If family
members can advise us of any loved ones entering nursing homes/rehab centers, it would be appreciated.

A FAMILY THANKSGIVING PRAYER
We are a family.
For one another, we are love and trial,
strength and trouble. Even when far apart,
we belong to one another
and, in various ways, we remember
and pray for one another. We join now
to give thanks to our God
and ask God’s blessing on this family
(those who are present
and those who are not here).
May the Lord Jesus, who lived
with his holy family in Nazareth
dwell also with our family,
keep it from all evil, and make all of us
one in heart and mind. Amen.
(from Catholic Household Blessings and Prayers)

much more. Immaculate Conception Parish - Dardenne
is hosting the program beginning January 8, 2015.
There is a $25 fee which will cover all materials needed.
(Scholarships are available for anyone who cannot afford
