‫רב יהודה‬: importance of proper surveying; measuring the canal banks may be done, not on river banks

Reason: territory on river banks is public
ii story: of public announcements to cut down all vegetation on river banks – incorrect, as very little is needed
for just the ropes for lading;
iii story: ‫ רבה ב"ר הונא‬owned forest land on river banks, wouldn’t cut it down until neighbors cut down theirs

Challenge: ‫’ר"ל‬s famous ‫ דרשה‬on v. 5; Answer: if they don’t cut down theirs, they can’t use any of it anyway
