Career Center is a public high school enrolling approximately 2265 students in grades 9 through 12. Career
Center is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the NC Department of Public
Instruction. Career Center offers a comprehensive curriculum at regular, honors, Advanced Placement and
Career Technical Education levels. Average AP class size is 25 to 34 students. Average CTE class size is 20.
Demographic breakdown for the 2014-2015 school year is: 59% of students are White, 20% are African
American, 13% are Hispanic, 5% are Asian, and 3% are Multi-Racial.
Curriculum
The academic program operates on an eight period day, consisting of traditional year-long and block classes.

Community /District
WSFCS serves about 54,000 students with the goal of providing a quality education for each child. The school
system has 43 elementary schools, 14 middle schools, and 15 high schools. Nine special schools bring the
system-wide total to 81.
