COMMUNITY SERVICE IN ACTION
THE BOOKSHELVES ARE BUILT!
Message from President Tony / Photo by Joey Timmer
Thank you to Bob Goebel, Roger Bowles, Dan Kreis, Joey Timmer, Paul
Blissett and his fiancé Jamie, Shelli Kadel, Tony Morrow, and several
Interact students for building the bookshelves in Bob's workshop last
Thursday evening. A special thanks to Bob and Roger for all they did to
make this event happen, as well as all who attended the
preparatory session last week to get the materials ready for the
assembly.
In 2010 Marv Fisher attended his first indoor football game and was
hooked. As time progressed he befriended numerous players and
coaches. He had the opportunity to travel with the team on numerous
occasions, attend practices and assist in the locker-room. He and his
wife, Vickie, sat in on many surgeries and recoveries as well as providing
that parental touch, assisting them in recovery from colds, allergies and
broken hearts. This contact led to a passion for the game, but a greater
passion for the players and lead to his decision to form Wichita Indoor
Football LLC.
Marv Fisher, CFP, SagePoint Financial Inc., has been a member of our
Rotary club since February 1995.
SALVATION ARMY BELL RINGING
Dear Fellow Rotarians,
I want you to know how much I appreciate the
care and concern that so many of you expressed
to me and my family following my wife's death.
While Carina had to drop out of the downtown
club some years ago due to business scheduling
issues, as a Paul Harris Fellow she continued her
love and respect for all that we do.
Thank you one and all!
Phil Michel
PS I'm going to be missing for a few weeks as I
head east to be with my family over the
Holidays, but I'll see you in early January.
Thanks to those who rang bells last

Message from Shelli Kadel, RITE Teacher Co-Chair
The RITE Teacher committee is happy to announce that we have five
teachers coming in January to participate in our outstanding RITE

program. Twenty host homes are needed to accommodate our three
teachers from Argentina and two teachers from Panama. If you, or
someone you know, can host a teacher for a week OR if you need more
information, please contact Shelli Kadel at [email protected] or
316.838.0150. The dates are listed below.
January 17-24 || January 24-31 || February 1-7 || February 8-14
The first host homes get their choice of the best dates....so call early to
make sure you get the dates you want!!
THE ROTARY FOUNDATION
GIVE THE GIFT OF ROTARY
~Every gift to The Foundation has an impact ~
Taken from Rotary International
Every year, hundreds of thousands of
people — children, families, and entire
communities — benefit from projects
funded by The Rotary Foundation.
Although Rotary gives back in countless
ways, we focus our service efforts in six
areas: promoting peace, fighting disease,
providing clean water, saving mothers and
children, supporting education, and
growing local economies. You can help us
continue to create positive, lasting change
with a gift to The Rotary Foundation.
FOUNDATION DONATIONS
Message from Brent Groves, Foundation Chair
The goal of our club this year is for more members to contribute to
Rotary Foundation, with the ultimate goal that all members would
contribute $100 or more this fiscal year. As a fun way to promote this
goal, we will have a drawing at the end of the fiscal year for all members
who have donated a minimum of $100 to the Rotary Foundation in this
fiscal year. The winner of the drawing will receive the use of a vacation
home in Colorado for one week, courtesy of Roger Bowles. The reward
of giving to the Rotary Foundation is the knowledge that 100% of your
gift is serving people around the world. Thanks to Roger, we are able to
offer a little extra incentive for you to consider making a donation. Thank
you for your generous support of the Rotary Foundation.
