How to use this Guide This Course Enrolment Guide 2015 provides you with information on when and where the units available for study in this program(s) will be offered in 2015. Enrolling in units for 2015 1. Read Section 2. ‘Program Maps’ for information on course structure and unit sequence. Take note of any prerequisite or co-requisite requirements before selecting particular units. Take note of the study period in which units are offered. • A prerequisite is a requirement that must be met by a student before enrolment in a stipulated unit. It is your responsibility to ensure that you meet the prerequisites for a unit prior to enrolling into that unit. • A co-requisite is a requirement that must be met by having already passed or being concurrently enrolled in an associated unit in order to be able to enrol in the stipulated unit. If you wish to enrol into a unit for which you have not met the prerequisite or co-requisite requirements, please obtain approval from your Course Coordinator. 2. You must refer to Administration and Enrolment on the ACU website (http://students.acu.edu.au/332297) for information on how to complete your enrolment via Student Connect. ‘Administration and Enrolment’ also provides detailed information on managing your studies. 5. Log on to Student Connect and enrol (http://students.acu.edu.au/136953). Student Connect is a web interface allowing students to complete their ACU enrolment online. IMPORTANT NOTE Failure to enrol or re-enrol before the published due dates for re-enrolment on the ACU website (http://students.acu.edu.au/381148) may result in late fee penalties. Even if you are unsure of what units you need to enrol in, please ensure that you enrol or re-enrol in at least one unit before the due date. Enrolling in at least one unit by the due date will enable you to add further units, or amend your enrolment via Student Connect up until the final dates published in the Critical Dates for Variation of Enrolment on the ACU website (http://students.acu.edu.au/273880). “Turnitin” The Faculty of Education and Arts values students’ academic honesty and integrity. It employs a range of processes and technologies to support students to ensure their work aligns with University’s Academic Honesty Policy and Framework for Academic Integrity. Turnitin, now available at ACU, is an online originality checker and is an educative tool for students. It allows students to preview their work and identify originality prior to handing in assessment items. Program Information 2.1 Postgraduate Certificate in Religious Education (40cp) To qualify for the Postgraduate Certificate in Religious Education a student must complete 40 cp from across the range of Religious Education units in the Schedule of Unit Offerings. 2.2 Master of Religious Education (120cp) To qualify for the Master of Religious Education degree, a student must complete 120 cp from the Schedule of Unit Offerings, consisting of: Pathway 1: a. 50 cp from Religious Education Units(600 level); b. 30 cp from Research Units; c. 40 cp from Electives (500 level - AQF level 8) or (600 level - AQF level 9) units) from other Masters level courses, (Graduate Certificates, Graduate Diplomas, or Postgraduate Certificates approved by the Course Coordinator) Pathway 2: a. b. c. d. at least 40 cp from Religious Education Units (600 level); at least 40 cp from Theological Studies Units (with at least 20 cp at 600 level); 30 cp Research Units; Up to 10 cp from other Masters level courses, (Graduate Certificates, Graduate Diplomas, or Postgraduate Certificates approved by the Course Coordinator) Notice for students who wish to receive an award for a course of study other than that for which they are enrolled: If you are enrolled in a master’s degree and wish to exit with a postgraduate certificate you may apply for course completion once you have met the requirements of the lower level award. Subsequently, if you wish to resume your studies in the higher level course, you will be required to reapply for admission to that course. If you are enrolled in a master’s degree and intend to complete this degree, you may request a letter from the Course Coordinator confirming that you have satisfied the requirements for the postgraduate certificate but you cannot receive this award. If you are enrolled in a dual degree and intend to complete this degree, you may request a letter from the Course Coordinator confirming that you have satisfied the requirements for the relevant single award but you cannot receive this award.
