The Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph
St. Michael The Archangel Church, Union, New Jersey
We are all destined to live in families: Jesus was no
exception. Jesus’ family, like most of ours was not a family
of great privilege. They fulfilled the ritual requirements of
Judaism and returned to their simple lives in Nazareth.
There, we can presume, they followed the sometimes difficult
call to honor, love and respect one another … just like us.

A NEW YEAR'S PRAYER
May God make your year a happy one!
Not by shielding you from all sorrows and pain.
But by strengthening you to bear it, as it comes;
Not by making your path easy,
But by making you sturdy to travel any path;
Not by taking hardships from you,
But by taking fear from your heart;
Not by granting you unbroken sunshine,
But by keeping your face bright, even in the shadows;
Not by making your life always pleasant,
But by showing you when people and their causes need you most,
and by making you anxious to be there to help.
God's love, peace, hop and job to you for the year ahead

These past 2 weeks we have had Christmas Celebrations
with the disabled children of the ARC, cookedand
served dinner to our friends at the Quadriplegic Center
and served dinner to the residents of the Nursing Home.
Our members did an amazing job of spreading Christ’s
love and Christmas cheer at all these service projects.
Our members really came through at our “Santa In Blue”
toy collection as we collected over 180 brand new toys
for needy children. (and these were good toys too!)
Special thanks to our seniors who drove all the toys to
the Police Station

Congratulations to Makayla Devlin a St. Michael’s School Alumni
and a present senior of Roselle Catholic High School. She has
recently been honored by the Archdiocesan Youth Discipleship
Committee. Makayla was one of the two seniors in her class to
receive this award. She has earned this award by answering the call to
discipleship through outstanding service to family, community,
school and parish. Makayla has truly shown her service to God and
