Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe St. Michael The Archangel Church, Union, New Jersey November 22 & 23, 2014 As we conclude this liturgical year, we anticipate the future and Christ’s return in glory at the end of time. Our focus is on Christ’s kingship, and ancient image that is tempered by the image of the shepherd. God, and God in Christ, is tender and loving, yet judging and separating. The King – the Son of Man – identifies with the least of us. So don’t delay and sign up this week! CHANGE IS IN THE AIR In an effort to be more compliant with the General Instruction of the Roman Missal 2002, the Introduction to the Order of the Mass 2003, and the Norms for the Distribution and Reception of Holy Communion Under Both Kinds in the United States of America 2002, effective November 30, 2014 (the first Sunday of Advent), you will notice some changes taking place in the Sanctuary during the Mass. These new procedures affect the Presider, the Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion and the Altar Servers and do not require any change on the part of the congregation. These modifications are being implemented in an effort to reduce the movement in the Sanctuary, thereby creating a more reverent and prayerful atmosphere for the celebration of the Mass. Those interested in Reading and acting in our Dec. 15th Festival of Lights should let Phil know as soon as possible. Spots will be given out on a first come first served basis. ALL SOULS ENVELOPES You may have noticed that your envelope packet did not contain the envelopes for All Soul’s Day. The envelope company D.P.Murphy is sending out the All Souls Day envelopes in a special mailing this week. Although All Souls Day has passed the priests will collect the envelopes and pray for those listed throughout the whole month of November. We apologize for the inconvenience. ST.
