Australia Day celebrations will begin with a Flag Raising and Welcome
to Country, followed by a special Citizenship Ceremony.
Enjoy this special occasion alongside newly confirmed Australian
citizens, sharing the excitement of what it means to be an Australian.
Once the formalities are over, head outside to the Glen Waverley Library
forecourt to enjoy the big brass band sounds of the Oakleigh City
Band and the laidback sounds of The Scrimshaw Four. Taste delicious
traditional Australia Day foods, while the kids get creative with Makedo
craft activities, a ‘Tape It’ art project and a circus skills workshop.

WAVERLEY BUSHWALKING CLUB

Meet at Jells Park Teahouse, off Waverley Road, Wheelers Hill Cost: Free
Join in a pleasant guided walk around Jells Lake to Norton Park
and then make the return journey. The total distance is 8kms,
which will take a maximum estimated time of 2.5 hours. Please
bring a hat, sunscreen, water bottle and fruit/muesli bar. Wellbehaved dogs on leads and parents with prams are welcome.
Participants must be able to walk unassisted for 8kms.
