to see draft agenda - Association of Schools of Public Health in the

ASPHER 2015 Deans’ and Directors’ Retreat in Jerusalem, June 2-4
ADDRESSING NEW HORIZONS IN PUBLIC HEALTH
CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES
PRELIMINARY AGENDA
Purpose & Structure: The main purpose of this high level meeting of heads of ASPHER member schools
and associates is to discuss the ongoing agenda and to map the future direction of the Association. The core
part of the Retreat starts with the Annual General Assembly during which, in 2015, ASPHER members will
discuss and adopt the new strategy establishing goals and priorities for the Association through the year
2020. The following two days of the Retreat’s proceedings will explore in detail the main themes of the 2015
meeting which include: (i) professionalisation; (ii) health and human rights; (iii) the role of the schools
regarding selected aspects addressed by ASPHER 2020, and (iv) global collaboration. Each year the Retreat
offers also a rich programme of satellite events and social activities; see below for a detailed schedule
proposed for 2015.
Outcome: The main outcome of the Retreat will be oriented towards active involvement of all members in
the ratification of the ASPHER 2020 strategy. It is expected that the Retreat will also contribute to the
ASPHER policy brief series with the 2015 volume.
