Close Loss to Agawam, Now 3-4 for Season
The Torpedoes lost a close meet this past Saturday to Agawam. Agawam outnumbered the
Torpedoes and came out defeating the Torpedoes by a score of 529 to 484. The Torpedoes
swimmers still registered 53 new best times. The last meet of the winter season is away at
Monson on Saturday, January 10, 2015. We are hoping for a 4-4 season. Go Torpedoes!
Sign Up For Champs!
Swim Towel $18
Make sure that you sign up swimmers for champs by January 8, 2015. Each swimmer is asked to
put down three events that they would like to swim at champs. Coach will look at these and try to
schedule them in at least one of the events that they chose. The deadline for submitting the
events to the league is that week and coach needs to put together our swimmers events.

Raffle Prizes Needed for Torpedoes Banquet
Every year at our winter banquet we hold a Chinese style raffle for the swimmers. We ask our
families to please donate items to this raffle. There are over 100 swimmers on the team and we like
to collect enough items so that swimmers have many chances to win something. The prizes do not
have to be brand new items, but we prefer them to be in good shape still. Christmas time is a great
time to look through all your old games, books, toys etc. to see if there is anything that you could
donate to the raffle. If you are able to donate a prize please start to bring them in to the pool so that
we can store them for the banquet. We will be announcing the date, time and location of the banquet
before the end of the season. Thank you to all.

Thank you to everyone that has volunteered to help at swim meets or the Lap-A-Thon this year.
It is great to see family members stepping up in order to help the team be successful! We know
that swim meets can sometime last a long time, but with all of your help we are able to make
the meets as smooth as possible and thus make them as sort as possible. There are two more
meets left to this season and we would like to see as many swimmers attend these last two
meets as possible. If you haven’t yet volunteered for help at a meet please consider signing up
for a job at the table.

8:30am start.
January 24 & 25, 2015: Championships at Longmeadow High. Times to be announced.
Be sure to sign up for meets in the meet book that is located at the
board table.
