Life in the Spirit Seminar
Lenten Mission with the FPOs
Need a faith-lift? The Life in the Spirit Seminars have been a tool of the
Catholic Charismatic Renewal since the 1970’s to bring people into a
deeper relationship with God through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Church of the Nativity and St. Mary’s Charismatic Prayer Groups will
host the Seminar for 7 consecutive weeks from January 29th – March
19th on Thursday evenings, 7:15 - 8:45 pm in NATIVITY church or
parish hall. There will be teachings, personal witnesses and small
group discussions to help you to learn to live in the fullness of your
Baptism and use the gifts of the Spirit you were given at Confirmation.
Registration prior to the first class is preferable so that discussion
groups may be assigned. You may register by email: [email protected] or by contacting Tom Finn 703-978-5180, or
Kathleen McArdle, 703-978-6811. See our flyer on page 9.
Please keep in mind our Lenten Mission begins on March 1st with
the Franciscans of the Primitive Observance. They are the same
Community that was with us last year. The details of the Mission
will be forthcoming in future bulletins. Tentative days are March
1st through the 4th.
Visits to the Sick and Homebound
Parishioners who are ill or otherwise unable to attend Mass for a
short or an extended period of time may have Holy Communion
brought to them on Sundays by calling the St. Mary’s main office at
703-978-4141. If no answer, leave a message including your
name and number. In the event of a Sacramental emergency,
please contact the Duty Priest at 703-978-4141, x1.
Ushers Needed
Lost & Found
Are you looking for a way to participate in the mass with your
family, maybe even gain service hours? We are looking for a few
more ushers for all masses and a few people available for substitutions. Ushers serve one Mass per month, the same weekend every
month. This is a vital ministry and an opportunity to participate in
the Mass. If you are interested, please contact Joe Osborne at 703250-8332 or [email protected]. Please consider helping.
Missing something? We have jackets, gloves, sweaters, books, and
more that have been turned in and never claimed. Please stop in
Farrell Hall the weekend of January 31st - February 1st to see if
any of it is yours. Also, please check the front office for watches,
jewelry and keys.

Tuition Angels Scholarship Fund
Adoration on Thursday, January 22nd
Please consider giving the gift of a "Catholic Education" by becoming a Tuition Angel to help families who do not have the financial
ability to pay tuition for our Preschool Program. Thanks to the generosity of parishioners, tuition assistance can be offered to any family in need of financial assistance to start the education process for
their children at St. Mary's Preschool. If you are interested in contributing, please contact Miss Elena in the Preschool Office. Any
assistance would be greatly appreciated.
As in past years we will have Adoration in the Worship Center after

participate in the March, please come to support the cause with
your prayer.

Rally and March for Life
Thursday, January 22nd
This year we’re heading to
the Patriot Center for a
rally and Mass before the
March for Life. After Mass,
we’ll take a bus into DC to
peacefully march in

The Car Ministry Needs Cars
If you have a used car to donate, please consider The Car Ministry, a
charitable agency that processes and repairs donated vehicles which
are given to needy families and persons who can support a car and
who have been referred by pastors and social workers. The vehicles
are given at no cost to people in need of transportation. These vehicles transform people’s lives because transportation allows them to
obtain employment in places that were previously inaccessible and it
makes them self sufficient because they now have a means to get to
work. For more information, contact Peter Garry, 703-978-1163.
Next Sunday, January 25th:
SNL-MADE (5:00 to 8:15 pm)
After Mass and dinner, we’ll have games, music, small groups, and
we’ll begin our semester series all about the greatest story ever
told. So often we think of Scripture as a collection of random stories, but this semester we’ll be going through and finding how God
is telling one big story that can impact our lives today. Whether
you’ve been involved in our events in the past or not, we’d love to
have you join us this semester.
