ALLEGAN HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
January 21, 2015
 The varsity girls’ basketball team held on to win against South Haven. Karlie
Wells led us in scoring with 17. The team’s defense made big stops in the end to
clutch the win. We are now 5-6 overall. We host Sturgis on Friday.
 The JV girls’ basketball team beat South Haven 32-29 Tuesday night, January
20th.
 The Varsity Boys Basketball team lost to South Haven 70-39, despite a strong
start. Braden Ellis had 13 while Hunter Nichols chipped in 11.
 The freshman boys lost a tough game in overtime last night to South Haven 5748. The Tigers were led in scoring by Landon Mielke and Julius Compton with
14 points each.
 The Allegan Men’s Swimming and Diving Team won in impressive fashion
against Harper Creek Tuesday Night, winning the meet 115 to 66. Tiger
swimmers took first place in every event but one. Individual event winners for
Allegan were Lucas Bunn, Sy TerAvest, Nate Wallace, Joel Raymond, Charlie
Riess, and Brody Carns. The Tigers take on Sturgis next week away in what
should be an exciting matchup.
 Attention: Any girl interested in playing high school soccer please come to the
informational meeting this Thursday, January 22nd at 6:30 in the Tiger Den.
Parents are invited to attend as well.
 Band Pizza Hut night! Wednesday, January 21st from 5-8 P.M. We need four
students to help.
 Snowcoming is fast approaching, and this year your student leaders are stepping
up their game in the tech world! Voting for court will now be done on your
netbooks. Please check your school email regularly, and reply to the message
that says “Please Respond” because we are testing class groups. Voting for
nominees will take place in early February.
 Allegan Public Schools Aquatic Center Swimming lessons for winter-2015
registration forms are available in the main office.
 Timber Ridge Ski Club 2014-15 pay-as-you-go student and adult information
and forms are available in the main office. Questions please call Mindy

 The APS Fieldhouse, behind the middle school, is open to the community for
walkers, joggers, during the following hours: 6:00-7:30 A.M. and 5:30-7:30
P.M. (Monday-Friday
 Hey students… do you like the music playing in the hallway? Would you like
to request a song? Stop in the media center and fill out a request. We are in the
process of updating our itune song list.
 Students interested in auditioning for The Cat in the Hat who took scripts need
to get those to Mrs. Sparks ASAP so others may also read the script prior to
auditions. Please also stop to see her to pick up the monologue you should
memorize for the auditions.
 Attention all French students! There will be a French fun day on Tuesday,
January 27th. Bring warm clothes for a snow sculpture contest. There will be
food, fun, and hot chocolate included. This will be extra credit for all French
students.
 Intrigued by the thought of being in a play? Want to showcase that creativity?
Try out for The Cat in the Hat. Auditions will be Monday, January 26th from
3-4:30 OR 6:00-7:30 in the Performing Arts Center. See Mrs. Sparks or the
Media Center for a copy of the audition form and the monologue for auditions
 Parent-Teacher Conferences are Tuesday and Wednesday, January 20th and 21st
at Allegan High School from 4:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M.
 Americas Got Talent – auditions in Chicago (coming up January 24-25). You
may also go under Parent Links or view the poster on the AHS bulletin board.
 Cell Phones- the media center is collecting cell phones. Please bring in your
unused cell phones to the media center. Collection is on-going, so bring them in
anytime.
 Community Service at the First Congregational Church in Allegan on
Thursdays. Show up at 4 P.M. to help prepare and serve dinners. Questions,

 Seniors – The list for diplomas has been posted on the main office window.
Please check this list and let Mrs. Fales know immediately if your name is not
listed correctly. This is the list that will be sent to Jostens.
 Seniors: almost time to submit your FAFSA form, submit between Jan. 1-March

 Sophomores: Scheduling meeting, Thursday, January 22nd, 2nd hour in the
