APPENDIX A. INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE PBA EVALUATOR
TRAINING COURSE
Thank you for volunteering your time to serve as an evaluator for the 2015 Performance-Based
Assessments (PBAs) in Career and Technical Education. Before serving as an evaluator, you will
need to complete a short training course to learn about the responsibilities of being an evaluator.
The course is offered online via Canvas, a learning management system, and is estimated to take
about one hour to complete. The test coordinator for the district you are evaluating will submit
your information so that you can be enrolled in the course. Once you have been enrolled, you will
receive an email from [email protected] like this one:

Click the blue link in the email and follow the directions on-screen.
o Please note that the email may go to your junk mail folder. If you think you should
have received an enrollment notification email and have not, please check your
junk mail folder.

If for any reason you do not receive the email, you may alternatively navigate to
https://mde.instructure.com/login to log in.

Once you have logged in, you will be taken to your personal home page. From there, you
can navigate to the PBA Evaluator Training Course by hovering your mouse over “Courses”
and selecting the course from the drop-down list.

This will take you to the course home page where you can click on “Introduction” and
begin the course.

The course is complete when you have read through each module and successfully
completed each checkpoint and the evaluator agreement.

You do not have to complete the course all in one sitting. The course will save your
progress, so you can sign in and out as you please. The web address for the Canvas login
page you will use to sign back in is https://mde.instructure.com/login.
Please complete the course prior to serving as an evaluator.

your email.

APPENDIX B. EVALUATOR AGREEMENT
Thank you for serving as an evaluator for a performance-based assessment (PBA). By doing so, you
agree to follow all directions as you evaluate the students to the best of your ability by using the
provided rubrics fairly, objectively, and independently. To maintain the integrity of standardized
testing, the materials observed, gathered, and scored during this assessment must be kept secure.
You agree to protect both the students and the test materials by not discussing the assessment
outside of the three-hour testing window. You may not photograph, reproduce, or physically retain
any portion of the assessment.
