Announcing RCP/WACP training
on HIV, TB and malaria
23–27 February 2015 • Conference Room, Department
of Medicine, Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Accra
The West African College of Physicians’ (WACP) mission is to
improve the health of West Africans through excellence in training
of medical specialists, and the provision of high quality health care.
The Royal College of Physicians (RCP) has developed a close and
effective partnership with WACP over the past decade.
With support from the Ecobank Foundation, the
WACP and RCP are organising a clinical course
in Accra that will focus on the treatment and
management of HIV, TB and malaria as well as
preparation for infectious disease outbreaks such
as Ebola.
The course is only open to doctors who have
passed their membership examination
(ie senior registrars and above) with the colleges
in West Africa.
With facilitators drawn from both RCP and WACP,
this five-day training course will provide skills for
effective training and supervision of trainees.
A certificate of training endorsed by RCP and
WACP will be given to qualified participants.
Attendance is limited to 30 participants and
international participants are welcome.

The application process opens on 12 January 2015 and the closing
date for application is 20 January 2015. Limited partial funding (to
support travel and accommodation) is available to support a small
number of applicants who live more than 100km outside Accra.
