City of Moraine Division of Police Police Blotter Week Ending 01-22-15 01-16-15 0004 Officer stopped a vehicle for speed and found the driver was DUS. A sergeant questioned a passenger who provided a false name and DOB. Calvin Metcalf, age 30, was arrested for Obstructing Official Business. 15-116 0208 An officer stopped a vehicle for a lane violation on Dryden Rd. The driver, William Fox, age 51, provided a false social security number. Fox fled from the traffic stop onto SB I-75 at speeds in excess of 95 mph. He exited the highway down the on ramp to SR725 and the pursuit was terminated. The prosecutors approved a Felony Fleeing and Eluding charge on Fox. 15-117 2007 Officers responded to 2900 Cadillac St on the report of a stolen vehicle by a boyfriend. When the officer arrived, the vehicle had returned and the boyfriend was trying to force entry into the house. Officers had pull Michael Taylor, age 29, was taken into custody after he fought with the police and found to have a collapsible baton on his person. He was charged with Disorderly Persist, Obstructing, Resisting Arrest and CCW. 15-122 2325 Officers responded to the area of W. Venetian Way on the report of two suspicious males near a tree. Officers located Tyler Whittington, age 22, hiding in a bathroom at 4605 W. Venetian Way. He was arrested on two warrants through this department. 15-123 01-17-15 0116 An officer stopped a vehicle for speed on W. Dorothy Ln and suspected the driver was impaired. Steven Baker, age 42, failed his field tests and was arrested for OVI. During a search of the vehicle, four baggies of marijuana were found near the passenger seat and Robert Johnson, age 39, said they were his. He was charged with Possession of Marijuana. Baker provided breath sample of .188 BAC on post. 15-124 0449 Officers responded to 402 Artie Ct on a domestic dispute where the girlfriend wanted the boyfriend removed (2nd call in three days). Eduardo Guerrero, age 28, was arrested for Disorderly Persist when he continued to argue with the complainant. 15125 1128 Officers responded to 4807 Mays Ave on the report of a Burglary. Someone had forced entry into the house and took jewelry and coins. The matter is under investigation. 15-126 1614 An officer went to assist Miami Township PD on a hit/skip accident in which a passenger had fled that they believed had two felony warrants. The Moraine officer located the suspect inside Fazolis and he was turned over to MTPD. 15-133 2200 Officers responded to Pizza Express on the report of a suspect trying to rob the business. The employees stated that they had him in custody. The officers found James Jones, age 33, being held down by an employee and he was taken into custody. Jones later confessed to trying to rob the business because of a heroin addiction. He was turned over to Kettering PD to be questioned about a UDF robbery earlier that night. 15-134 01-18-15 0130 An officer stopped a vehicle for multiple violations on Main St at Pinnacle Rd. When he approached the vehicle it fled from the stop northbound on Gettysburg. After the suspect vehicle got up to 90 mph, the officer terminated the pursuit. Charges are being reviewed on the owner with the prosecutor. 15-136 1727 An officer stopped a vehicle for multiple violations. He found the driver, Alana Harrison, age 22, was DUS and had marijuana in her purse. She was charged with multiple traffic violations and possession of marijuana. 15-137 1732 An officer responded to 4801 Miami Shores Dr on the report of a B&E. The complainant stated someone got into his unsecured garage, but nothing was missing. 15-138 01-19-15 0014 A sergeant made a stop for speed on Main St. He found the passenger, James McKinney, age 32, was not wearing his seatbelt. He was later found to have a warrant for his arrest through Miami Twp PD. He was arrested and taken to the county jail. 15141 0928 An officer attempted to stop a vehicle for speed at Main St and Pinnacle Rd. The vehicle fled northbound on Gettysburg and the officer terminated the short pursuit due to excessive speed. 15-142 1944 A sergeant stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. He smelled marijuana when he talked to the driver, Talisha Bell, age 32. A search of the vehicle located marijuana and a few Xanax pills. She was charged with possession of Sch IV drug and marijuana. 15-147 01-20-15 1510 Officers responded to Walmart on the report of an uncooperative shoplifter in custody. The officers found that Christan Thomas, age 32, had stolen Walmart cloth bags and loaded them with over $1,400 worth of DVD sets. She was charged with Felony Theft and Possession of Criminal Tools. 15-153 01-21-15 0830 Officers responded to Abbel Rentals on the report of stolen and forged business checks by an employee. The suspect admitted to stealing and forging several checks. The matter is still under investigation. 15-158 1404 An officer responded to post to take a theft of a laptop computer. The victim stated he forgot his bookbag in a friend’s vehicle and he found out that the friend had pawned the laptop. The friend returned the laptop after the report and the victim did not wish to pursue charges. 15-161 1545 Officers responded to 2616 Cadillac St for a warrant service. Amber Reese, age 24, was arrested on the Germantown warrant and transported to the county jail. 15164 2033 Officers went to the Relax Inn to serve two warrants on Alan Leach, age 39. He was located in his room after refusing to open the door and was arrested on the Felony Probation/Burglary warrant and a Kettering PD warrant. 15-167 01-22-15 0658 An officer responded to 2832 Cadillac St on a Criminal Damaging complaint. The victim stated that overnight, someone had painted obscene words on his mother’s vehicle. The matter is under is investigation. 15-170 1623 A sergeant on patrol stopped a vehicle for equipment violation. He discovered that the license plate on the vehicle was stolen in Dayton in December.
