My name is Laura Singleton. I moved to Florida and began attending CommPres nearly 3 years ago. I am excited to be the Elder for Life Groups as I believe that they are a fantastic way to connect with other Christians and a safe place to grow you faith. I am a native Kentuckian, but I spent 17 years living in London, England. It is there that I experienced a rebirth of my faith through a joyful, Spirit filled Anglican church called Holy Trinity Brompton. I attended a Sunday service one cold, dark January night, phoned their offices the next day and joined my first life group on that Tuesday! I am the mother to 3 fabulous daughters, and I love to kayak, hike, and even camp in my spare time. We would like to welcome all of our guests to Community Presbyterian Church. We hope that the Spirit and love of the Lord fill you today as you worship with us. We would love to connect with you one-on-one, to learn more about you, and to allow you to learn more about our church and congregation. If you are a first time guest please join us after the service at the Welcome Cart so that we may get to know you better and offer you a welcome gift. If you are a first time guest or a returning guest, we invite you to fill out a welcome card and place it in the offering plate as it passes by. This will allow our pastoral staff to pray for you by name this week. If you have any specific prayer concerns, please place them on this card. We look forward to connecting with you more during your time in Celebration. Please fill out the Friendship Pads found at the center aisle especially our guests! If you are a member and have changed any of your information, please update your information on the Friendship Pad. Once you have passed the pad to the end of your row, please pass the pad back the center aisle. Become a Member of Community Presbyterian Church Periodically we hold new membership classes we call CommPres 101. We would love to have you join our membership and if you have questions please contact Pastor William or one of our Elders. If you are interested in attending please contact the Church office at 407-5661633 or email us at [email protected]. If you have a prayer request please email [email protected] or call the office at 407 -566-1633. Submissions for the bulletin must be received by Wednesday afternoon. If you have an immediate prayer need, you can ask for a prayer request to be sent to our eprayer group. Please specify either the bulletin or e-prayer group or both in your request and your wording for the request the e-prayer group receives. It’s Never Too Soon to Make Arrangements for Our Final Resting Place! The Resurrection Chapel and Memorial Courtyard (the Columbarium) here on our church campus provides a final, quiet, peaceful and permanent location for each of us and our loved ones. Call our church office 407-566-1633 to find out more details as to availability, special prices for members, regular attendees, etc. Scripture Memory Verse Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Or what man is there among you who, when his son asks for a loaf, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him! I had just retired from Goodyear Treasury where I was fortunate to travel the world. Joining the Mission team, I served lunch at the Salvation Army and transported food collected in our church barrel each week. Helping with the clean-up and preparation of the Hope Center and assisting with the food pantry have given me the opportunity to serve the greater community. As part of the CommPres Finance team, I participated in the church debt refinancing last year. My wife serves in Women’s Thursday Bible Study and is a Stephen Minister. In Ohio, we were members of the Methodist Church where I was the Finance Chairman. We both love Celebration and enjoy swimming, biking, walking at Disney, and spending time with our grandchildren. Our daughter and son-in-law have a two year old boy with one more on the way, in Riverview, FL. Our son and daughterin-law have two small beautiful daughters living in Charlotte, NC. For recreation and fellowship, I enjoy playing golf with other CommPres men and gathering with CommPres men on Saturday mornings. I would be blessed and honored to serve our church family here as elder and thank you for welcoming us so warmly Tammy LaVarro—Care I was Born and raised in Augusta, Georgia and moved to Orlando, Florida at the age of 19. I have three beautiful children who keep me extremely busy, Brandon 17, Alexis 15 and Erica 12. My Husband is a Polk County Detective and we love to go antique shopping together. I’m an Interior Designer and my passions are decorating, sewing, watching my children grow and growing closer to my Lord and Savior. I currently co- facilitate DivorceCare and am involved in the Stephen Ministry at CommPres. God has blessed me with many opportunities to reach out to hurting people and share the love and forgiveness that he has shown me throughout my Life. I am so excited to be able to give back to our community and to share God’s unconditional love to those who are hurting and need Soul Care! Bruce Carlson—Personnel Retired Executive from The DuPont Co. in Willington, DE. I currently own Imagination Reality, Inc. in Celebration, FL with wife Kathy (Also an elder at CommPres).
