*Opening Hymn
*Opening Prayer
God of the prophets, help us to recognize your voice among the competing claims of our day.
Raise up in our midst authentic witnesses to your truth. Be present with us now to guide our
prayers and praise. Let us not presume to know your message without careful listening or to
speak your word without discerning the Spirit. Light your fires within us so we may heed your
summons and give our best in your service. Amen.
Prayer of God’s People (We invite your prayer concerns and celebrations.)
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors;
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
Receiving of Our Tithes, Gifts, and Pledges
Largo
Offertory Prayer
*Praise God from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Henri Eccles
Praise Him above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.
Anthem
With This Communion, We Thank You
Jay Althouse
CBC Choir, Nelson Wong, director; Shirlene Leong Nakano, accompanist
Lord, today we will know you as we break the bread
This we know is your body, and by it we are fed
We break the bread before us, our souls will be restored
And with this communion, we thank you, O Lord.
Lord, today we will know you as we drink the wine
This, the blood of forgiveness, this, your grand design
We drink the wine before us; our souls will be restored
And with this communion, we thank you, O Lord.
With bread and wine before us, our souls will be restored
And with this communion, we thank you, O Lord. Amen

Church Annual Meeting
The 2015 Annual Meeting is today at 1:00 in the sanctuary. Come to hear how God is working through FCBC, yearend financial reports, installation of new officers, board and committee members, the state of the church report and
memorials of loved ones who returned to the Lord in 2014.
RMMO “Thank You” Offering
Thank you for your generous gifts of $1880.00 for retired American Baptist ministers and missionaries.
2015 ABC Biennial Mission Summit
The next American Baptist Biennial Mission Summit is on June 26-28 at the Overland Park Convention Center,
Kansas. We are once again a “booster church” of this event by contributing $1000 to help with the cost of putting
this national convention together. The Deacons are seeking church members to attend as delegates and visitors at the
convention when Pastor Don as the current president will be presiding as well as giving the Sunday night message. If
you are interested in attending, please see Pastor Don to begin making plans to register and attend.
Ministry Opportunity—Community Outreach Minister
FCBC is searching for a part-time member of the pastoral staff who would help us to more effectively reach our
neighbors in the community. Strong interpersonal skills, fluency in Cantonese and English, and a heart for outreach
are strongly preferred. For a copy of the position description, visit the church website or get a copy from the church
office.
Redwood Glen “Rooted for Renewal” Campaign
Celebrating its 55th anniversary, raising funds to retire the loan that was used to purchase the camp and performing
necessary physical improvements, Redwood Glen has launched a campaign to raise $2 Million. Given our long history with
Redwood Glen going all the way back to Chung Mei Home and Dr. Charles Shepherd and our heavy usage of the facilities
such as Youth Camp for the past 40 years and the Senior Retreat, the congregation voted to participate in the campaign by
giving $100K over the course of the next 3 years. Consider making an additional personal gift to support Redwood Glen’s
life-changing ministries today. Send your gifts directly to Redwood Glen, 100 Wright Dr., Loma Mar, CA 94021.

Welcome to Sunday Worship!
We are glad you’re here! Our Deacons and Pastors would like to meet you. The ushers are ready to answer any
questions that you may have. Join us for youth, young adult and adult Sunday School classes after worship! We hope you
are enjoying the warm fellowship of First Chinese Baptist and pray that the good news of the Risen Christ is in your life!
All parking meters including yellow truck loading ones are now free on Sundays. If you need to park in a garage,
parking stickers for 2 hours are available to all visitors and members at St. Mary’s Garage on the corner of California
(entrance) and Kearny Streets. Bring your ticket to one of our ushers for a sticker when you leave the service. The sticker
has a $6.00 value. The hourly fee is: $2.50/hr. before noon and $3/hr. noon to 3:00 PM. If you stay after 3:00 PM, the
hourly rate is lower. Golden Gateway Garage at 250 Clay St. is $3 all day on Sundays by using a stamp in our vestibule.
It’s still easy to worship at FCBC in the heart of Chinatown where new friendships are developed with Jesus Christ and
with each other!
Prayer Concerns & Celebrations
~February Prayer Focus: Pray for relief from the drought that has affected California for almost 4 years and our
commitment to save water and reduce global warming and pray for healthy families as we gather to welcome the new
Chinese/Lunar New Year on February 19th.
~Pray for the work of the Staff Transition Sub-Committee on behalf of the Deacons as we look forward to the changes
that will come as the result of the upcoming retirement of the Senior Pastor.
~Pray for the 135th Church Anniversary Committee as they plan to celebrate our church’s milestone on Oct. 24-25,
2015.
~In the wars waging in the world, protect those who are serving on our behalf as well as those who are caught in the
crossfire of violence. Pray for God’s peace in the world.
Vision/Mission Statement
The First Chinese Baptist Church, San Francisco is a multi-generational bilingual bicultural church. Through the power of
the Holy Spirit, we are called to be a people so transformed by God’s gracious love in Jesus Christ that we joyfully commit
ourselves in worship, witness, discipleship, and ministry.
2015 Church Theme: Mission in Chinatown
So Christ came and proclaimed peace to you who were far off and peace to you who were near; for through him both of us have
access in one Spirit to the Father. (Eph. 2:17-18)
