Accessing Student Email via
Android – Nexus (Lollipop)
You can access your Northumbria Student Email on the go via your Android Nexus tablet/smartphone.
Note: Settings/Images may vary slightly across different devices.
When connecting on campus using the free WiFi service you should select the following:
Laptops, tablets, iPad
Smartphones, iPhone
NU Simply Web
NU Smartphone
Before you begin:
Before beginning you will need to have your Northumbria Windows Live Username and Password,
which is different to your Northumbria Username and Password.
You will find this in your mailbox in the email Your Northumbria Windows Live Username and Password.

Go to Settings > Accounts

Select Add Account

Select Exchange

Enter your email address: e.g. [email protected]

Then select Manual Setup

Select Exchange

Sign in with your Northumbria Windows
Live Password
Then select Next

Enter the Incoming server settings :
Username
Enter your Windows Live Username:
e.g. [email protected]
Server
Port
Security Type
The click Next
Outlook.office365.com

SSL/TLS

At the security screen select OK
10 Choose the items you want to sync to your
phone. Then select Next
11 Enter a name for the account so that you can easily identify your mail e.g. Northumbria Email
CAUTION: Please remember that when you synchronise the email on your mobile, the connection works both ways.
Therefore, when you delete items from your mobile device they are deleted from your Northumbria email account.
