Letter from the Administrator
The Greystone Concierge Program is a unique and
valuable service that is offered at The Rehabilitation
and Health Center of Gahanna to enhance a
person’s stay with us. The concierge program goal
is to create a positive experience for our guests and
visitors by ensuring complete satisfaction during
their stay and experience. Key components of the
program to make this happen are:
 Sincerity
 Follow through on promises
 Follow up on expectations
 Power of “yes”
 Apologize
 Go the extra mile
Richard Smith is our full time Concierge,
working at Gahanna for a year and a half. He is
an STNA and plans to begin training as a
Therapist this summer. He will be here from 106 daily visiting with our Rehab Guests and doing
all he can to make your stay here as
comfortable and memorable as it can be. His
number is 614-674-1555.
At Gahanna, you will receive excellent
customer service from every staff member you come into contact
with, at your bedside, at the meals you eat, and in the cleanliness of
your room. We hope your stay with us will leave a positive
impression lasting a life time.

Member of The Month
Donnie Cretsinger
Donnie Cretsinger was born in
Mullens, West Virginia. He
moved to Ohio in 1953
because his father’s job was
relocated. Donnie met his
lovely wife in school, and they
were married December 14th,
1962. They have one
daughter. They also have a
dog named Daisy, but he calls
her Killer!
Donnie had a 30 year career in
plastics. He started as a cut off
man and ended up being the
plant manager.
For fun Donnie likes to camp
in his RV, hunt, fish, and just
being outdoors. He is very
handy in woodworking, but
mostly repair work. He was
also a regular at flea markets
buying and selling (a lot of
toys). And be careful of
Donnie’s bargaining skills as
he also likes to go to auctions!
During some down time,
Donnie likes to work on word
puzzles and jigsaw puzzles.

Therapy Tips
Taylor Harry, Therapy Department
As we age most of us try to stay active. Some
lift weights, and others run. We try to keep
our bodies healthy . It’s rare however for
people to remember the muscles that help us
chew and swallow. So in the spirit of staying
healthy here are a few oral exercises.


Touch the tip of your tongue to the roof of
your mouth and slide it back as far as you
can
Push your tongue against the inside of
your cheek. Moving from side to side.
Oral Exercises




Pucker, Hold, Smile, Hold. Repeat this
alternating movement several times.
Close your lips tightly and press together.
Relax and repeat.
Stick out your tongue and move it slowly
from corner to corner.
Glide from a high note to a low note.

News From Human Resources
Justin Jonas, Human Resources
Hello!
At Greystone we feel that having our associates in the proper uniform
helps our members easily identify the right person to help them at the
right time.
Our nurses wear white scrubs, the nursing aides wear teal scrubs, therapists wear blue polo
shirts, the environmental associates wear green polos, and our food and nutritional services
associates wear black and white. We hope this helps make your stay with us a little easier!
Thanks, Justin Jonas

Go Red for Heart Month
By Tori Couch
Greystone is committed to healthy,
worthy and impactful causes. We are proud to
support the American Heart Association's Go
Red For Women initiative and National Heart
Month.
This February, Greystone kicks of the Go
Red Survivor Gallery, a traveling gallery of
heart issue survivors featuring Greystone's
own associates. Traveling through the Tampa
Bay and St. Petersburg area, the gallery
showcases women who have dealt with heart
attacks, arrhythmia (dangerously rapid heart
rate), and battled through heart conditions
from birth.
Many women may be unaware of
potential heart attack signs which differ greatly
from men. Often misdiagnosed, women's
symptoms include:
 Chest discomfort or upper body pain in the
back, shoulders, arms, stomach, jaw, neck
or throat
 Lightheadedness or dizziness
 Nausea or vomiting
 Inability to sleep or unusual fatigue
 Shortness of breath or trouble breathing
Find Greystone on the Web!
Follow us on Facebook and Twitter,
and check out our website for the
latest updates.
As the 2015 Go Red Tampa Bay Chair,
Connie Bessler, CEO of Greystone Healthcare
Management, is raising awareness and support
for women's heart health. "Through education
we can highlight the different ways heart
concerns can manifest themselves and
encourage better care and safety. A number
one killer of women, we must be constantly
vigilant against such a serious – and often
overlooked – health concern."
