Police investigate weekend shooting
Brighton police are investigating
the shooting of a 31-year-old female
during a disturbance at a party in
Brighton at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday.
Police reported Tuesday that the
woman remained in a hospital where
she is recovering from her wound.
Officers were initially dispatched to
the 7-Eleven store at 1012 E. Bridge St.
at 2:39 a.m. on a report of a female
with a gunshot wound who had collapsed in the store.

location on foot after being shot, and
reportedly went to the Western
Convenience store located at 1351 E.
Bridge before going to the 7-Eleven.

on the fatal traffic accident that
occurred Friday: The woman killed in
the crash at U.S. 85 and 124th Avenue
was identified as 44-year-old Michelle
Pumphrey, from Broomfield.

Jan. 30. She was born to Charles George and Ethel
Julia Bernel. Survivors include her husband, Edward A.
Warner; son, Robert (Julie); daughter, Samantha

at First Presbyterian Church of Brighton.

Thomas Kresha, 48, of Brighton, died Jan. 29. He graduated from Brighton High School. Survivors include his
mother, Patricia Kresha, of Brighton; wife, Amie; three
children and three siblings. Memorial mass, 1 p.m.

T.J. Morgan, 52, of Denver, died Jan. 25. He was born
in Brighton and attended Brighton High School and
Metro State College. Survivors include his sons, Taylor
and Tanner; his ex-wife Janie; stepmother Judy; brothers
Joe, Tom, and Kris; and nieces Katie, Mary, Maiya, and

Joe Padilla, 90, of Brighton, died Jan. 29. Survivors
include his children Martin, Victor, Frank and Virginia;
sister Helen; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services, 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Amazing Grace
