Samual Barrutia, 39, of Denver, died Jan. 15. He was
born in Greeley to Jose Luis and Teresa (Martinez)
Barrutia. He attended schools in Fort Lupton and
Hudson and later married Tracy Ticono in 2012. Samual
worked for his father in the construction industry and at
Denver Plastics in Hudson, but most recently he was a
dockworker at Sports Authority in its distribution center.
Survivors include his wife, Tracy; parents, Jose Luis and
Teresa Barrutia, of Brighton; and brothers Edward and
Jose Andres Barrutia, of Brighton. Visitation 5-8 p.m.
Sunday. Funeral service. 10 a.m. Monday. Both services will be held at Tabor-Rice Funeral Home. Interment

Melaquias "Mel" Abeyta, 78, of Henderson, died Jan.
14. He was born in Sapello, N.M., to Melaquias and
Eleanor Abeyta. He grew up in Brighton. He was preceded in death by granddaughter Brittany Vigil; and brothers
Dan Abeyta and Samuel Abeyta. Survivors include his
wife Gloria; children Randy (Clorinda) Abeyta, Lorraine
(Alfred) Perez, Valerie (James) Roth, Theodore (Jodine)
Abeyta, and Cindy (Cisco) Uribe; 13 grand children, 23
great-grand children and 11 brothers and sisters.
