Getting ready to retire?
Everence Financial will present an informational seminar,
Retiring soon? Make sense of your Medicare and Social
Security choices at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on three upcoming
Mondays – Feb. 9, March 9 and April 13. Everence Financial
Advisor Robert Wall will speak on Medicare and Social
Security, provide instructions on how to enroll, explain your
options if you continue to work and answer related questions.
The seminars will take place at Everence Financial, 371 N.

College Students planning to attend a Mennonite
Church USA college in the 2015-2016 school
year: If you wish to receive Congregational Student
Aid, pick up an application in the church office and
return it by Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015. Even if you are
unsure of your college plans, we encourage you to
apply for aid to ensure it’s available to you. If you
have questions, please contact Bruce Claassen,
Stewardship Chair.

Parenting Seminar: Sunday, March 1, from
6:30-7:30 pm
Topic: Children's Faith Formation: What to expect for
your children's spiritual development at various ages,
and simple ways to develop and strengthen your
children's faith. Led by Tami Keim.
Primary Sunday School and WOW Bible Stories:
This week
Early Childhood (age 2-PreK): A large crowd followed
Jesus to a wilderness area. Jesus taught the people then
fed them using five loaves and two fish. Thousands ate
and were satisfied. (Mark 6:30-44)
Primary/Middler (grades K-6): A Syrophoenician
woman came to Jesus begging help for her child. She
convinced Jesus to help foreigners as well as his own
people. Jesus healed her daughter. (Mark 7:24-30)
Our worship space is equipped with “T-loop” technology
for hearing devices equipped to receive “T-loop
digital signal. Otherwise, assistive devices are
available. Ask an usher or sound technician for
assistance.
Nametags: Plan to wear your nametag every Sunday.
Notify the church office if you still need a nametag.
Lanyards are available upon request.
Looking for the Nursery? Ask an usher if you need help
finding the nursery. Nursery care is provided for
children through age 2 during worship services.
Also, children ages 3-6 are welcome to take an
activity bag to use during worship.
Announcements for Sunday bulletins should be
submitted by Thursday morning to the church
office.
If you are bringing a drink into the sanctuary please
make sure there is a lid on your cup.

~Dolores Yoder is at Mercy Hospital in Moundridge.
Pray for comfort and healing.
~Continue to uphold Velma Swartzendruber in
prayer as she recovers from heart surgery.
The Whitestone prayer room, located at the top of the stairs
near the east entrance, is available all week for those who
would like to spend time in personal prayer.
New Member and Baptism Classes
A six week class for persons wishing to explore
baptism and/or church membership at Whitestone will
begin during the Sunday School time, Sunday, February
22. (The class may choose to meet at other times but the
first gathering will be during the Sunday School time,
February 22.) Persons who would like to be part of the
class should fill out an interest card at the welcome table
or contact the church office.

Elective Sunday School class starting in March 1:
We will be studying the book, Age of Opportunity, A
Biblical Guide to Parenting Teens by Paul David Tripp.
Leadership for each Sunday will be shared by the
members of this class. If you are interested, please let
the church office know by Feb. 18 so books can be
ordered. Book cost is about $13. Contact Amy
Claassen with questions.
The Elders have given approval to a Sabbatical leave for
Pastor Kurt. The Sabbatical will begin May 1 and
continue through August 10. Staff and Elders are
working on details and responsibilities related to the
Sabbatical. Look for more information in the March
“Whitestone Life.”
The Gift Discernment Team has recommended that Bill
Zuercher be appointed to fill the unexpired Elder term
of Kara Swartzendruber and the Elders have affirmed
that recommendation. The congregation will be ask to
affirm the appointment on Sunday, February 15.
