Six-Week Lenten Bible Study Beginning February 26:
Walking in the Footsteps of Jesus
Join Betty Connette on Thursdays during the season of Lent as, together, we encounter the life and ministry of Jesus in a fresh and exciting way. In The Way: Walking in the Footsteps of Jesus, author
and renowned pastor Adam Hamilton explores the earthly ministry of
Jesus to help us hear his teaching and view his actions anew by drawing upon insights from history, archaeology, and the geography of
the Holy Land. Using videos shot on location, Hamilton takes us to
the Jordan River where Jesus was baptized and the wilderness where
he was tempted. We'll see the ruins of ancient Capernaum, where
Jesus healed the sick, and ascend the mountain where he gave his
most famous sermon. We'll travel across the Sea of Galilee, and we'll
visit the last remaining community of Samaritans in the world. Finally, we'll travel to Jerusalem, where Jesus spent his final days. This 6week "visual" journey into the heart of the land where Jesus walked,
will surely deepen our understanding of Jesus' life, while also increasing our love and faith in Him. (Betty will facilitate our study
on Thursdays, February 26-April 2. Please call or email the
church office by Thursday, February 19 to register for this series
of one-hour classes and indicate your preference of meeting time:
7:00 p.m. or noon.)
Support Gwen Orilio
If you are like many at WBPC, you are looking for a way (in addition
to prayer) to support our own Gwen Orilio, who was just recently
diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. She's a wonderful 31 year old
mother, wife, daughter, sister, teacher, and coach who gives so much
to so many, and now could use some giving back. There will be a 5K
run on her behalf on February 21 and you can donate or participate
by visiting www.gwenstrong.com. The family is thankful for the
outpouring of love and support already received and asks for your
continued prayers.
Ash Wednesday Worship Service
February 18 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary
Join us February 18 at 6:30 p.m. as we begin our Lenten journey
with a contemplative worship service of scripture, prayer, and music,
which includes the imposition of ashes and communion. Our meal
will be begin at 5:45 p.m. Reservations are needed for the meal.
We will serve lentil and vegetable soup free of charge.
It’s Preschool Registration Time!
@TheTable Worship: Sundays at 5PM
Please join us every Sunday for @TheTable worship at 5:00 p.m. in the fellowship hall for this
coffeehouse style worship. @The Table will host
a dynamic Jazz Vespers with Mime Ministry at
5:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 22.
Registration has begun for next fall. Between January 15 and 31, we
are registering those who are currently enrolled, siblings, and church
members. If you have a preschooler or know someone who does,
please let them know. We will be having an Open House and Registration for the community and others interested at 10:00 a.m. on February 2.

Scout Sunday is February 22!
On Sunday, February 22, we will celebrate the work of the scouts in
our community and in our church. The Scout Law says that a "Scout
is Reverent" and the Scouts of all ages promise to do their "Duty to
God". These values strengthen youth character in their family, community, and faith. The Scouts and adult leaders of our scouting program wish to thank WBPC for the 46 years that you have provided a
place for the scouts to meet, learn valuable life skills, and, above all,
a place to have fun. Thank you and we look forward to being a part
of this church for many years to come.

Year End Financial Report
2014 - Thanks to Divine Intervention, good response to
our pledge requests and opening offering, and managed
spending for December, the Church ended the year
with a small surplus. Our pledge receipts fell short of
our budgeted amount by $17,960.00, but with an overage in opening offering and miscellaneous receipts of
$10,407.00, and underspending of $7,406.00 we managed to end the year with a surplus of $147.28.
2015 - We had an excellent response in pledges; and
when combined with an increased estimate for opening
offering we were able to meet the requested budget as
presented. This represents an increase of 10% over
2014. Again we wish to express our thanks for your
effort in understanding the mission of our church and
answering with great generosity.
