2015 PowerBoat Guide www.powerboatguide.com Hatteras 70 Cockpit MY A very popular yacht (over 50 were built) with a handsome, eurostyle profile and extravagant accommodations, the 70 Cockpit MY is among the most luxurious production yachts ever offered by Hatteras during the 1990s. She’s basically a 65 Motor Yacht with a cockpit addition (the extra hull length allows for an additional 426 gallons of fuel beneath the cockpit sole). Like most modern Hatteras motor yachts, the floorplan is arranged with the galley and dinette on the deckhouse level where it’s convenient to the salon. The spacious full-width salon (there are no side decks on this yacht) is extended well aft, leaving only a small afterdeck overlooking the cockpit. The wheelhouse and galley are both enclosed in this layout and separated from the salon. Originally designed with a standard four-stateroom floorplan with twin enginerooms, more recent VIP layouts have a full-width engineroom and more spacious guest accommodations. The flybridge is massive with space for a dinghy aft, and the side decks are partially sheltered by flybridge wings. Twin 870hp 12V71s cruise the 70 Cockpit MY at 17 knots, and later models with 1,075hp 12V92s cruise at 19 knots. 1984–98 Standard Layout, 1988–91 Standard Layout, 1992–98 Insufficient Resale Data to Assign Values Length .............................. 70'10" Beam................................... 18'2" Draft...................................... 5'6" Weight ........................ 103,000# Clearance............................ 21'4" Fuel............................1,596 gals.
